The following are instructions to shorten Home Depot Home Decorators

Necessary Tools:
Flathead Screwdriver
Scissors
Paper clip
Step 1:
Install and lower the blind fully

Step 2:
Figure out which slat should
be the last bottom slat in the
blind and mark it with a
piece of sticker or masking
tape.
Then removing all excess
slats below your new bottom
slat, except for the bottom
rail.

Step 3:
Identify what you are cutting.
Pull Cords
Loop ear
Ladder strings

Step 4:
Trim off all loop ear below the
new bottom slat.
Step 5:
Measure about three inches
down from where your last
bottom slat is sitting. Cut the
ladder strings there. Your will
need this three inch it to tie the
new knot at the bottom of the
bottom rail.

Step 6:
Use a flathead screwdriver to
remove the plugs at the
bottom of bottom rail
Step 7:
These plugs hide the pull cords
with knots and the ragged
ends of the ladder strings.
You will have to cut the ladder
strings to take out from
bottom rail.
Leave pull cord knots alone.
DO NOT UNTIE IT

Step 8:
This is what your blind looks
alike by now.
Step 9:
LIft the bottom rail with
tied pull cord knots in the
bottom rail plug holes.
Slide it into ladder strings
right below the last bottom
slat.

Step 10:
Pull down the pull cords
from the bottom rail plug
holes until excess pull cords
went below the bottom rail.
Note:
When adjusting the excess
pull cords, always ensure
the safety cord consolidator
is within 6” or less from
headrail when blind is fully
lowered.

Step 11:
Make knots of pull cords
right below the bottom
rail plug holes.
Step 12:
Cut off excess pull cords
right below the knots you
just tied.

Step 13:
Cut off excess ladder strings
if necessary , then rag them
together and tuck it with
pull cord knots into the
bottom rail plug holes.
Step 14:
Snap plugs back into
bottom rail.

Note:
After shorten the blind
length, you might see the
tilter cords and pull cord are
too long for your blind.
Please see below steps to
adjust your cords into idea
length (optional).
Step 15:
Use paper clip from top of
tassels to loose the cord
knot at bottom of tassels.

Step 16:
Move tassel to your idea
position.
Step 17:
Tie a knot right under your
new position tassel.

Step 18:
Cut off excess cords and
push the knot into the
bottom hole of tassel.
Step 19:
Complete blind after
shorten length.
