As part of Taking on Tomorrow, the inaugural National Pediatric Innovation Summit, Boston Children’s Hospital will announce three $50,000 awards in the areas of Clinical Innovation, Community/Patient Empowerment, and Research/Scientific Breakthrough in Autism. The National Pediatric Innovation Awards are designed to recognize the most cuttingedge advances and innovations in pediatric care today. Displays a unique approach to improving healthcare experience or solving an existing problem Showcases a strategy or procedure that improves the quality of care for patients Represents a leap forward from the industry’s historical approaches Improves significant business and/or clinical processes that positively impact patient care Displays clear, accurate and efficient technical methods Has significant, measurable impact Provides delivery of ever-improving value to customers and stakeholders Community/Patient Empowerment, recognizing innovative technologies that help empower patients and families with information, tools, or resources to take a more active role in managing their care to improve outcomes. Is patient focused Demonstrates opportunity to improve patient empowerment as it relates to managing healthcare Shows promise for continued expansion to patient communities Places emphasis on disruptive innovations Has clear, accurate and efficient technical methods Provides measurable: clear, informative, user-friendly reporting Research/Scientific Breakthrough in Autism, recognizing research breakthroughs that hold substantial potential for identifying causes of autism or for diagnosing or treating children with autism.
