How to Program a ditto-Key
There are 2 modes to program a ditto-Key:
1. via ditto-Key Programmer
2. via ditto Base Station

ditto-Key Programming via ditto-Key Programmer
This programming mode requires the ditto-Key USB Programmer.
1. Install the program “Ditto Key Programmer” on the PC / Laptop. If required, install the USB
driver. The Program and USB driver can be downloaded from the dittolog webpage
http://dittolog.com/downloads
2. Connect the ditto-Key USB Programmer to your PC / Laptop.
The green LED flashes.
3. Connect your PC / Laptop to the Internet.
4. Run the program “Ditto Key Programmer” on the PC / Laptop.
Both fields “Programmer” and “ Web” should turn up in green color.If not, press the button
“Config”
Select the USB Com-Port of the connected ditto-Key USB Programmer (Com 1 .. 12).
Choosing the right USB Com Port will turn the Status field to green and triggers a short
accoustic “beep” signal n the ditto-Key Programmer.
Make sure that the Address of the dittolog Server is set correct in the Ditto Web-Update frame.

The correct Address is: http://www.mydittolog.com/upload.
If you don’t have any Internet connection the ditto-Key programming can be done offline.
In this case deselect the two tic-boxes “Email” and “Valide Date”. During the programming
process the Pilot-Name (ditto-Key Name) is written only into the ditto-Key and not sent to the
ditto-server. You have to catch up the programming process later in order to integrate the
ditto-Key fully into the dittolog system.
5. Enter the pilot’s information
• The ditto-Key Name (Pilot Name) by choosing unique names within your club. The max.
lenght of the name is 15 characters. Use abreviations if applicable.
• A valide email address for the designated pilot. The pilot will receive an email with further
instructions how to complete his details on the mydittolog webpage.
• A “Valide date” for the ditto-Key. You can choose any date in the future or simply tic the
selection-box “End of Year” or “Forever”.
• The “Clear” button can be used to cler the current entries of “Ditto-Key Name” and “User
Email Address”.
6. Press the button “Program” to start the programming process. The gereen LED on the
Programmer is turned on. You’ll receive the prompt “Touch Ditto-Key x sec” in the status field.
7. Touch a new / unprogrammed ditto-Key on the programmer.
• A succesful completion pf the programming sequence will respond in a statusmessage:
“Ditto-Key Programming successful”
• After an ellapsed time of 10 seconds without any user interaction you’ll receive the error
message “Ditto-Key Programming aborted”, the green LED on the programmes is
switched back to flashing and the programming process has to be triggerd again.
• The programming of a ditto-Key that is already assigned to another pilot (and a valide
Valide Date) will be refused with the error message: “Error, the key is already active for
another user”. You have to erase the “old” assignment to the former Pilot by selecting the
“Erase” function before restarting the “Program” function again. A successful deassignment will prompt the status message: ”Ditto-Key Erase successful”
• Using a ditto-Key that has not initially registered by Swift Avionics before delivery will
result in the error message: “Error, that key is not registered with mydittolog.com”. Contact
Swift Avionics.

8. The assigned pilot will receive the following email on his given email address.
Dear Mike Feuerstein
A temporary user account has been created for you on MyDittoLog.com for use with Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with
registation to enable you to login to view your flight details. Should you already have an account on MyDittoLog.com,
you will be given the opportunity to associate this Key with your existing user account.

9. Following the given registration link the Pilot ends up at at this web page:
New users (Pilots without an existing MyDittoLog account) will have to fill in the form below.
They can choose their own username and password for login purpose.
First Name and Last Name, entered as personal details will be shown in the future in all ditto
records for this pilot.

Before entering the personal details in the dilaog shown above, the Ditto-Key Name will be
shown in all ditto records.
Existing users will log in with their existing username and password:
The ney ditto-Key will be assigned to their existing account automatically.
Every registered pilot is able to modify his account details later on by following the link
http://mydittolog.com/my_account

ditto-Key Programming via ditto Base Station
This mode works only on ditto Base Station Firmware versions >= 2.3.1 (24.09.2010).
Ditto-Keys can be programmed by using the ditto Base Station. This is a very uncommon
programming mode and should only be used under exceptional circumstances.
1. Select the Tab “Keys” in the upper line of the Base Station display.
2. Enter the requested password in the pop-up window and confirm by preessing “ok”. The grenn
Programmer LED starts flashing.
3. Press button “Create”.
4. Enter the pilot’s information
• The Pilot Name by choosing unique names within your club. The max. lenght of the name
is 15 characters. Use abreviations if applicable.
• A valide email address for the designated pilot. The pilot will receive an email with further
instructions how to complete his details on the mydittolog webpage.
• A “Valide date” for the ditto-Key. You can choose any date in the future or simply tic the
selection-box “unlimited”.
5. Press the button “Program” to start the programming process. The gereen LED on the
Programmer is turned on.
6. Touch a new / unprogrammed ditto-Key on the programmer.
• The pilot’s name will be programmed into the ditto-Key and alle enterd information will be
sent to the ditto server.
• All dialog fileds will be cleared for the next programming process.
• There is no feedback from the ditto server. Problems may occure
a. programming of a ditto-Key that is already assigned to another pilot. You have to
erase the “old” assignment to the former Pilot by selecting the “Delete” function
before programming.
b. using a ditto-Key that has not initially registered by Swift Avionics before delivery.
