He’d love the chance to meet you. Kayla Miller Kayla Miller comes to us from Nabinway, MI. The daughter of a preacher/worship leader, Kayla has grown up being involved in the Mennonite church. During high school Kayla was involved with music, athletics, academics and children, serving both at church and in the elementary school. Upon her graduation, Kayla attended Cornerstone University and studied elementary education. During this time her love for children continued to grow as she served at Sabaoth Ministries, an afterschool program for low-income, inner-city students ages 7-18. For the past three summers, Kayla has worked at Little Eden Camp as a counselor during kid’s camp and kitchen staff during family camp. All these experiences have led Kayla here to BVMC and developed in her a vision for the BVMC Children’s Ministry. She is very excited to get the ball rolling and see what God has in store for the children already here and the ones to come. Next Sunday a short Congregational Meeting will be called to order during our worship services. Pastor Roger Shenk and the Overseers are enthusiastically recommending Kayla Miller as our new Children’s Minister. This is a planned transition to allow current Children’s Minister, Bonnie Telinger, to focus exclusively on her position as Communications Director. Please contact me directly ([email protected] or 941.376.5664) with any comments or questions prior to this meeting. Nancy I. Yoder, Overseer Chair Everybody needs to do a little Spring Cleaning each year, don’t they? BVMC needs some Spring Cleaning, too! It’s that time when you get all the extra cleaning done, that there just isn’t enough time for during routine cleanings. Won’t you spare a few hours to help? Saturday, March 16th 8am Now, you may say “EIGHT IN THE MORNING?!” But we’d be willing to bet that you’ve met a friend for breakfast at 8am at least a time or two this winter. :-) Light mid-morning refreshments will be served. Project areas include: Sanctuary Song Racks Office Blinds Kitchen Walls Window Sills Pews Chairs Windows Library Kitchen Drawers & Shelves A/C Vents & Returns Special thanks to Naomi Sebourn, Leona Yoder, and Cal Mills who have already offered to coordinate specific areas. Please take a moment to sign up at the Welcome Center so that we can plan the projects for the day. Last year our participation was a little low and we were not able to do all we had hoped to do. We need men and women and all ages are welcome. Come get dirty with us!
