How to make a willow bird feeder Materials you will need: 5 3-4ft willow rods 1 wooden block (please see separate sheet for details) Secateurs 3 44 1 5 3 4 1 2 3 55 1 1. Push rods into each hole 3.Continue folding over the willow until you have formed a point. 5. Remove the bird feeder from the wooden block by carefully using secateurs to lever it out from the bottom. Hold on to willow rod number 1 to stop it unravelling and tuck this end in. 2 2 2.Starting at willow rod number 1, fold the willow rod flat on to the inside of number 2. Continue this to rod 5. Once you get to number 5, place it over rod 2. Pull rod 1 up (over 2 and 5) and lay on the inside of rod 3. 4. Once you have formed a point, tuck in the leftover willow rods into the rest of the bird feeder. Alternatively plait 3 rods and cut off or tuck in the remaining willow rods. 6. Use a piece of string or leftover willow rod to hang your bird feeder up with.
