Round # 1 – UCI Track Cycling World Cup October 11 to 13 /2012 General information on the track CALI, officially known as Santiago de Cali, it is the capital of Valle del Cauca and the third most populated city of Colombia. It is located in the southwestern area of the country, guarded by the Farallones de Cali, which make part of the Andes mountain chain. Cali is known as the Sport Capital and hosts many major sports events that take place in Colombia. Among the most important sporting events that have taken place in our city we hosted the VI Pan American Games in 1971. We are also proud to have been the host of many world championships in different sports. Cali this year will host the Track World Cup for the twelfth time and in 2013, between July 25 and August 4 will host the World Games. In the sport of cycling our city will have the maximum responsibility, having been appointed by the UCI to host the Track Cycling World Championships in 2014. This event will take place from February 26th to March 2nd Cali is famous for its historical places, entertainment and day and night activities. it is also called the World’s salsa Capital. It is one of the major economic and industrial centers of the country, and the main economic, industrial, and agrarian city of the Colombian southwest. The accommodation expenses (in B&B basis) and local transportation of any national team affiliated to the UCI that has confirmed participation shall be covered by the OC according to article 3.4.011, which is to say: • Every day from the first competition day, until the day following the last event (art. 3.4.012), making a total of 4 nights. As per the UCI guidelines, only one pick-up per team on arrival and only one dropoff per team on departure will be provided. Transport will be provided by the Organising Committee Page 4 from October 5th – all national teams arriving before this date may be charged a fee for this service. UCI Registered teams may be charged an airport transfer fee should they wish to use the Organising Committee transport. UCI Registered teams should indicate if they wish to access OC transport. Buses arranged by the O.C. for the transport of athletes can not be occupied by boxes or bikes at any time. Venue Transport A free shuttle service will be provided to and from the velodrome from the Teams Hotels. This service will commence on the morning of October 8th for official training. Schedules will be distributed on arrival. Visas Each Federation/Team is responsible to obtain for their delegation the appropriate entry documentation.
