What is After School Kids Community Bible Study? A.S.K. CBS is a Bible study for elementary school age kids, grades K-5. Class meets once a week on Monday afternoons for ten weeks. We learn God’s word, sing and build friendships with other kids and adult group leaders. As they study the Bible, A.S.K. members realize that the Bible is relevant to their lives and God cares about every detail of their lives. After School Kids Community Bible Study ASK-CBS K – 5th grade Why A.S.K. CBS? What do we believe? A.S.K. CBS is for elementary school aged kids who are looking for a meaningful Bible study with their friends in a fun and safe setting. A.S.K. provides kids with the chance to learn more about God’s Word and to develop their faith and friendships through an in-depth Bible study. We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the divine revelation and inspired word of God. Its teaching is the final authority for all Christian life in matters of faith and practice. Each A.S.K. class provides a great opportunity for kids to: Study God’s Word with their friends in a small group setting Hear and sing great Christian songs Pray together Memorize Bible verses What does it cost? A $50.00 yearly registration* is requested to cover the cost of the program. Each child receives lesson books, a Bible, T-shirt, A.S.K. tote bag, and snacks. No one will be turned away if they are not able to pay. (*Or $25/per 10-week session.) The mission of Community Bible Study is to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth Bible Study, available to all. A.S.K. CBS is a 10-week Bible study in which children answer age appropriate questions for each lesson. As part of our Bible study approach, we learn the weekly passage in 3 different ways: Home Study Questions Teaching Core Group Discussions An important objective of A.S.K. CBS is that each child would become confident in their ability to understand God’s Word and begin to apply the Bible’s truth in their daily lives. Our Goal EVERY child in A.S.K. CBS will be: Comfortable Cared for Confident in God’s Word Fall 2013 A.S.K. will study several Old Testament heroes in the Bible. Come and spend time with Noah, Jonah, Nehemiah, David, Adam and Eve and more -- and discover how each of them walked with God (and how you can, too)! God is The Hero who created us all and gave His direction and power to us and the people we will be studying. What can I expect from A.S.K.? A.S.K. CBS is part of Community Bible Study, an inter-denominational Bible study ministry, which began in 1975. It is an “every person’s” Bible study with leaders and class members from a wide variety of churches, backgrounds and Bible knowledge. A.S.K. CBS is a shepherding ministry because each child is cared for in a small, adult-led group, called a Core Group, which provides fellowship, discussion, encouragement and growth. Core Leaders guide the kids in small group discussions and keep in touch with them weekly. Students do a short homework lesson weekly using their Bible. Kids with little or no Bible knowledge feel comfortable studying and learning in this setting.
