Q1. A1. What is the Twin Turbo G2 Connector? The patent-pending Twin Turbo G2 Connector is a compact, lightweight bracket uniquely engineered to connect two compatible personal fall limiters (PFLs) to the back of a user’s harness. The G2 provides 100% tie-off for continuous fall protection while working at heights with limited fall clearance. Q2. A2. Why was the Twin Turbo G2 Connector developed? The Twin Turbo G2 Connector was developed in order to offer a lightweight, competitively priced alternative to the Twin Turbo D-ring Connector. Q3. A3. What are the features and benefits of the Twin Turbo G2 Connector? • • • • • • • • Q4. A4. Q5: A5: Better alternative to double-leg lanyards o Reduces fall clearance requirements for use in more applications Connects two TurboLite PFLs independently o Provides ultimate worker mobility o Prevents webbing from twisting and binding inside the unit Lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum construction o Provides increased comfort and reduces worker fatigue o Increases durability and provides longer service life Connects to the harness webbing below the D-ring allowing the harness D-ring to remain available for rescue and connection to an overhead SRL Smooth connector nose prevents snagging of the connector on the harness webbing Large connector opening allows for quick and easy installation increasing worker productivity Webbing retainer clip rotates freely and offers a generous webbing slot to accommodate thicker webbing designs o Increased versatility o Easy installation of the connector onto the harness webbing o Increased safety by preventing unintentional opening of the carabiner during a fall Optional D-Pad Clip maintains harness adjustment while working by keeping harness webbing and D-Pad in place. o Provides a channel behind the webbing for easier insertion of the Twin Turbo G2 Connector What advantages does the Twin Turbo G2 Connector offer over competitive twin connector brackets? The Twin Turbo G2 Connector is the lightest weight twin connector on the market today. The high impact webbing retainer clip offers a more robust construction than other competitive twin brackets for increased durability and safety. The G2 connector has a larger gate opening and webbing slot making installation much easier and accommodates more harness webbing types. The smooth-shaped nose of the carabiner prevents snagging on the harness webbing. Twin kits are available in 6-ft, 9-ft, and T-BAK (tie-back) configurations offering more versatility than the competition. All twin configurations include models available that meet ANSI (including ANSI Z359.14), OSHA, and CSA standards offering the most options for full compliance. What PFL models are compatible with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector? Select TurboLite PFLs with both 6-ft. and 9-ft. working capacities and Turbo T-BAK (tie-back) PFLs are compatible with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector. Please refer to Q9/A9 for a list of the models available in twin configurations with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector. Page 1 of 4 Q6. A6. What TurboLite PFL models are not adaptable with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector? The only TurboLite PFL models that are not adaptable with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector are the models with permanently installed hooks on the top of the units which include: MFL-7/6FT, MFL-8/6FT, MFL-9/6FT, MFL-9-Z7/6FT, MFL-10/6FT, MFL-10-Z7/6FT, MFL-14-Z7/6FT, MFL-15-Z7/6FT, MFL-9/9FT, MFL-9-Z7/9FT, MFL-10/9FT, MFL-14-Z7/9FT, MFL-15-Z7/9FT, MFLT-4/7.5FT and MFLT-5/7.5FT Q7. A7. Can the Twin Turbo G2 Connector be purchased separately? Yes, the Twin Turbo G2 Connector can be purchased separately under part number MFLC/. The connector adapts to TurboLite PFLs (6-ft. and 9ft.) and Turbo T-BAK PFLs. Replacement parts and an optional D-Pad Connector Clip are also available for the Twin Turbo G2 Connector. Q8. What replacement parts and accessories are available for the Twin Turbo G2 Fall Protection System? The following table shows the replacement parts and accessories available as well as the stock designations for each. Q9. Model MFLC/ MFLC-1/ MFLC-2/ MFLC-3/ Q9. A9. Q10. A10. Description Twin Turbo G2 Connector Kit Aluminum Carabiner G2 Webbing Retainer Clip G2 D-Pad Connector Clip What is the benefit of using the optional Harness Back D-Pad Clip and do I need to use it on all Miller harnesses? The Harness Back D-Pad Clip is recommended for best performance to minimize slippage of the Twin Turbo G2 Connector on the harness webbing. It maintains harness adjustment while working by keeping the harness webbing and D-Pad in place. It also provides a channel behind the webbing for easier insertion of the Twin Turbo G2 Connector. The D-Pad Clip is included with every kit, but is not needed with all harnesses. Harnesses with sewn-in back pads (e.g. AirCore) and thicker webbing tend to stay adjusted without the D-Pad Clip. The D-Pad Clip fits the back D-Pad of all Miller harnesses sold today except for the Titan T2000/T2500 Series harnesses. Are Twin Turbo System kits available with the Twin Turbo G2 Connector? Yes, there are a variety of Twin Turbo G2 Fall Protection System Kits that include the Twin Turbo G2 Connector for TurboLite PFLs in both 6-ft. and 9-ft. lengths. A Twin Turbo T-BAK PFL Kit is also available with the G2 Connector. The chart below shows the Twin Turbo G2 Fall Protection System Kits that are available. How difficult is it to attach the Twin Turbo G2 Connector System to the back of the harness? Are any tools required? The Twin Turbo G2 Connector was specifically designed to be installed on the harness quickly and easily. No tools required for installation. A17. Q18. A18. How difficult is to install the individual TurboLite PFLs onto the Twin Turbo G2 Connector and who do you recommend perform this task? Are any tools required? The Twin Turbo G2 Connector is designed so installing or removing individual units is simple. By following the step-by-step instructions, anyone can install the product. No tools are required. Fig. 1 Q19. A19. Can the Twin Turbo G2 Connector attach to the back of other manufacturers’ harnesses? For optimal compatibility, we recommend attaching to a Miller harness. However, the Twin Turbo G2 Connector can also be attached to the back of a harness from other manufacturers as long as the connection is deemed compatible by a competent person after referencing the instruction manual for attachment instructions. As mentioned above, we recommend using the optional D-Pad Connector Clip for best performance and to minimize slippage of the connector on the harness webbing. The optional D-Pad Clip is designed to be used only with Miller harnesses and will not be compatible with competitive harnesses. Q20. A20. How much does the Twin Turbo G2 Connector weigh compared to competitive products? The Twin Turbo G2 Connector weighs 6.7 oz. The Twin Turbo G2 Connector is up to 22% lighter than the most comparable competitive model. Page 3 of 4 Q21. A21. What are the stock designations for the Twin Turbo G2 Fall Protection Systems?
