Design Studio delivers more than 400 Visual Statements and Wizards. What is the web administration? IBS Integrator provides the possibility to host different services, e.g. Timer, Folder watcher and Web Services. The web administration is a browser based interface which enables the administrator to create, configure, start and stop each service individually. In most cases the services were developed through Design Studio. How are Design Studio solutions deployed? Integrator solutions are usually developed in Design Studio in an IBS specific language, which is a superset of java. These programs are saved into an itr files. Compiling itr files in Design Studio will create a java (source) and class (binary) representation of the itr file. These class files can subsequently be deployed as services. Why is Design Studio creating itr files? IBS Integrator’s own itr language is a superset of the java language specification. Apart from the sun java specification, itr files also support constructs which are specific for Visual Statements. These constructs are compiled into java source files when an Integrator solution is built. Which services does IBS Integrator provide? IBS Integrator provides the following services: Timer: Used to run jobs periodically. Folder Watcher: Used to monitor a specific folder and process incoming files automatically Socket Watcher: Used to monitor a specific socket and process incoming requests automatically Message Server: Light weight Socket Watcher Queue Watcher: Used to monitor a IBS Communicator Queue and process incoming messages automatically Communicator: High performance Queuing System eSite: Used to deploy web sites Connection Pool: Used to pool performance sensitive (database) connections Web Services: Used to deploy and configure Web Services AS2: Used to deploy and configure AS2 and AS2 partners Alert: Used to monitor system resources Is it required to develop Integrator services in Design Studio? No, even though it is recommended and most customers use Design Studio to develop Integrator services. It is absolutely possible to develop Integrator services in your preferred Development Environment and deploy the service through the web administration. What is an Adapter? Adapters bundle the Visual Statements for one specific solution, e.g. IBM MQ Series or EDI. Please visit the List of Adapters to see the complete list of supported adapters.
