Pflugerville is fifteen miles north of Austin in
northeastern Travis County. From 1980 through
1988, new development in Pflugerville made it the
fastest growing community in the state. After a
slight slowdown during the recession of the late
1980’s, the tremendous growth resumed again
during the 1990’s, which saw the population almost
quadruple in size from 4,444 residents in 1990 to
28,038 in 2005. The District serves approximately
22,841 students on three high schools, five middle
schools, and nineteen elementary school campuses.
Students are challenged to pursue their talents,
reach their potential, and seek post secondary
education or technical training.

The district uses a weighted 4.0 scale for grade point
averaging. All Pre-AP and AP courses receive a
higher weight. Students may also attend Austin
Community College for dual credit courses, and many
on-campus courses are articulated with tech-prep. All
courses are used to determine GPA except: Band,
Choir, Cheerleading, Drill Team, Physical Education,
local and College dual credit courses. The GPA is
weighted for Pre-AP and AP courses. Class rank is
determined by the cumulated GPA in grades 9-12.
