MBJ Solutions focuses on the development, production and distribution of electroluminescence inspection system for
lab or inline implementation in the photovoltaic production process. The electroluminescence technology allows the
visualization and detection of defects otherwise not visible by the human eye. These defects are e.g. micro cracks, electrically not active areas or grid failures. Micro cracks can progress over time and lead to a significant loss in module
power. Electroluminescence inspection systems from MBJ Solutions are available for all steps in the production process
of a solar module.

Why Electroluminescence Imaging?
Many defects on a solar module are not visible for the
human eye. Electroluminescence imaging makes such
invisible defects like micro cracks clearly visible. Using
this technology provides the information necessary to
improve the product quality and to avoid customer complaints.
Defects with no electrical influence today may become
critical tomorrow. Thermal stress and mechanical stress
induced by weather conditions (storm, snow load) or
transportation will lead to power losses of pre-damaged
modules. The images below show clearly the influence of
cracks on the electrical power of solar modules.
Solar cells before and after thermal cycling:
The following pictures show why the electroluminescence technology is so important. It is a reliable and
cost effective inspection technology to find critical
defects like micro cracks.

The SolarModule EL-inline-family
Advantages of MBJ’s EL-inline Systems
The SolarModule EL-inline-family represents the high
resolution electroluminescence inspection systems. The
big advantage of this product family is the automatic image processing software.
What makes the MBJ’s EL-inline product family so special? The very simple but also unique mechanical design
of the machine combined with a modern high quality
software and hardware concept leads to an overall price
attractive solution for high end inline electroluminescence inspection. The unique continuous rollers guaranty a perfect glass support even with thinnest glasses.
The SolarModule EL-inline eco is the entry model of the
EL-inline product family. A resolution of 60 Megapixels allows the semi automatic detection of defects. The premium models SolarModule EL-inline HR and HRS with 240
Megapixels allow the detection of smallest defects and
generate best image quality.
Flexibility of the EL-inline-family
Offering a wide range of options
Software license for
Fully automated Operation
The SolarModule EL-inline-family is designed to be integrated into the module production process, before lamination, after lamination or for framed modules at the end
of the line. High resolution cameras provide best image
quality and allow automatic defect detection without
operator interaction. MBJ can offer a wide range of interfaces for the communication to the up- and downstream
conveyor.
