Sharp’s pioneering Plasmacluster Technology is an active air cleaning system that uses air ionisation to eliminate the build up of airborne mould spores, microbes and odours. ELIMINATES AIRBORNE MOULD SPORES, MICROBES AND ODOURS. Originally invented to purify the air in our air purifiers, it didn’t take long to realise it could also be used to purify the internal atmosphere of our fridge-freezers. The system works by automatically releasing positive and negative ions into the fridge, where they break down airborne mould spores, bacteria and odour molecules. This process is completely natural and mimics the way nature produces fresh air. The air then passes through a special filter, which ensures that all odours are completely eliminated. Unlike traditional filtration systems, the Plasmacluster Ion Generator does not lose its effectiveness and never needs cleaning or replacing. Our Hybrid Cooling System combines true fan cooling with direct cooling for a highly efficient method of keeping the temperature consistent – in every part of your fridge. The aluminium panel at the back of the fridge is chilled to approximately 0°C, which maintains the freshness of the food. At the same time, an advanced fan assisted air flow system distributes the cold air, which ensures uniform cooling, even in hard to reach areas like corners and door pockets, and prevents frost build up. An additional benefit of keeping the temperature even, is that food cools down more quickly, therefore preserving its nutrients and flavour for longer. Circulating this chilled, humid air around the interior also helps to prevent foods from drying out. So you get increased energy efficiency and better tasting food that stays fresher for longer. Inverter Technology is an innovative system using variable rather than fixed compressor control. The temperature inside the fridge is automatically monitored and kept at an optimum level through small adjustments to the speed of the compressor.
