1. You may have noticed that this spelling of "Jerusalem" is odd. You would expect to see ‫רוּשׁ ַליִ ם‬
ָ ְ‫י‬
however, "Jerusalem" is part of a group of words that are meant to be read differently than presented
in the Hebrew Bible Text. Therefore, Jerusalem will always appear to be spelled wrong, but should
be read as if it had the vowels of the example provided in this footnote. For more information, see
