Welcome to the first sample library catalog for the Native Instruments samplers Kontakt, Battery, Kompakt, and Intakt.
This catalog features a huge selection of over 130 professional and award winning sample libraries from various sample
developers. You will find anything from Orchestral to Electronic, featuring the best available sample libraries in the world.
All libraries are specifically designed for the Native Instruments software samplers Kontakt, Battery, Intakt and Kompakt.
Some of these libraries contain special versions of Kompakt, Intakt or Kontakt Player and don´t necessarily need the full
version of the sampler.

The products in this catalog are compatible to 6 different formats or products:
KONTAKT 1, KONTAKT 2, BAT TERY 1, BAT TERY 2, KOMPAKT, INTAKT,

right next to its description, which shows in which sampler each library can be
loaded and used.
KONTAKT 2 harnesses the power of tomorrow. The innovative technology within
this sampler is balanced by a clear, new and intuitive user-interface, turning sampling into an incredibly easy, inspiring experience. KONTAKT 2 incorporates six
different sampler modes and over 30 different effects and filters including a stateof-the-art Convolution Effect. Create vivid 3D soundscapes using up to 16 freely
definable surround channels. The KONTAKT Script Processor fuses conventional
sampling with intelligent MIDI processing and elements of macro programming.

KONTAKT 1 is the predecessor of KONTAKT 2 and has been released in April
2003. It won various awards from magazines and has fast become the main
sampler for sample library developers as well as musicians and producers. While
many libraries that have been developed with Kontakt 1 are upwards compatible to
Kontakt 2, the newer libraries made with Kontakt 2 are not compatible to Kontakt
1. Those who have Kontakt 1, but not Kontakt 2 can buy an upgrade for a reduced

KONTAKT PLAYER 1
The Kontakt Player 1 is the player version of Kontakt 1. It can only play back the
included library and cannot load and other libraries. The library itself though can
be loaded into the full version of Kontakt 1 and Kontakt 2. Eight instruments can
be loaded at a time offering a multitimbrality of 8 different instruments with each
its own midi channel and output.
Sample libraries including a KONTAKT Player sampler are offered by renowned
sample producers and are also available directly in the Native Instruments Online
Shop. They are a perfect combination between a high-end sample library and an
excellent sample player, and are based on KONTAKT technology for highest performance and sound quality. This makes it possible to user the library instruments
right away, standalone or as a plug-in, without needing another sampler.
The instruments of the respective libraries can be individually adjusted in volume, pan, and tuning. In addition each instrument includes up to five additional
sound controls, which vary according to the instrument (for example attack, reverb,
brightness, etc.). KONTAKT Player offers up to 128 stereo voices, 1- or 8-part
multitimbrality (depending on the version), 8 stereo outputs (for the 8-part version), and sample resolution up to 32-bit and 96 kHz (depending on the host and
the library). Key/controller activator and other professional playback technologies
are also supported (but not editable).

The Kontakt Player 2 is almost identical to the full Kontakt 2 software. The only
difference is the limitation to the included library and the excluded possibility to

The acoustic bass guitar is something rarely sampled, and we have sampled separate
index finger and middle finger variations for every articulation, including sustains,
marcatos, pops, slaps and more... (not to mention a very fun effects and slides toolbox) The guitar is simple but powerful. It is not distorted to the point of being crunchy,
but its amped, not direct in - making it perfect for backing tracks or focused leads.
Last are the drums; recorded and programmed in the true multitrack technique used

every mic. One snare crack and its felt through all the mics, which can be assigned
to separate outputs from Kontakt, allowing for individual gating, EQing and reverbing

The Hammered Dulcimer Trilogy concept was to sample 3 different members of the
hammered dulcimer family which give a wide pallette of tonal colors to work with.
From Volumes I to III we move from dark to light and large to small. In Volume I,
the Cimbalom is the biggest instrument of the family as well as the darkest in color.
To our knowledge this is the first time this instrument has ever been sampled extensively. I has a huge sound... almost piano-like at times. Volume II features a Concert
Grand Hammered Dulcimer with 3 courses to a string (3 sets of strings make up
one note). It is also quite a large instrument, but not as big as the Cimbalom. This
instrument had a surge in popularity in the 60’s in the US during the “folk revival”.
Volume III features what one would consider today to be a “standard” hammered
dulcimer with 2 courses per string. It is quite light and airy sounding. The Cimbalom was sampled a ff and mf dynamic levels including dampened notes as well a
tremolo for that classic gypsy sound. The Concert Grand hammered dulcimer was
sampled with wood and felt hammers as well as being plucked by the flesh of the
thumb for a very dark and warm tone color. Also included is an ornament called
a “drag” created by one hammer bouncing repetitively on the string to be finally
interrupted by the other hammer which plays a long accented note. The 2 course
“standard” hammered dulcimer was sampled with wood and leather hammers as
well as “drag” ornaments. This unique library is proving to be extremely popular
with composers of film and television soundtracks.

In ancient Egypt, RA was regarded as the creator of everything, the god of the sun.
RA is usually represented with the body of a man and the head of a hawk, holding an
ankh & sceptre. The chief location of RA worship was Heliopolis (a Greek word meaning city of the sun). RA is an appropriate name for the largest, and most comprehensive rare and ethnic virtual instrument ever made. Every instrument or ensemble was
sampled extensively, so the character of the instrument was preserved. Ethnic (or
World) music is all about expression, and how the instrument is played. To sample
a Turkish wind instrument and not capture the bending, swelling and wavering of
the notes is to miss the point completely. We made a big effort to keep things very
organized, consistent, and intuitive, which is necessary with a collection of this size.
Every instrument has many articulations and fx that range from very controlled, to
very expressive. This allows you to actually “play” the instrument with authentic
results. The possibilities are simply endless, especially when you mix the sounds
of different cultures together. Load up the middle eastern string section, apply an
Indian or Egyptian tuning from the micro-tuning presets and play octaves. Make a

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU GAVE GODZILLA DRUMSTICKS?
STORMDRUM began when producer NICK PHOENIX went to the Record Plant
Studios in Los Angeles to record some big film grooves for movie trailers he was
working on. He hired some the best percussionists in the world (Tal Bergman, Richie Garcia, Michito Sanchez), and filled up Studio A with hundreds of drums. The
Record Plant said they had never seen anything like it! After a complex setup, they
were ready to roll. Everything was recorded through Neuman mics into an SSL Console to 2 inch analog tape and later transfered to 24 bit, 88.2 digital. The drum-kits
and percussion multi-samples in STORMDRUM are really amazing! Everything has
10-24 way velocity switching with left and right hand samples. The sound is BIG
and sometimes AMBIENT when neccesary. There are 32 GM drumkits with automatic alternation of left and right hand samples built into each kit (snare, hats and
toms). To access the full drum library, users can load up all the individual elements
and make up their own 88 key kits. No combination of kicks, snares, hats, toms
and cymbals ever overlaps. Load one of each, using 5 of the 8 multi-timbral parts
and set the 5 programs to the same midi channel. Instant custom 88 key drumkit!
The 88 Key drum setups don’t utilize automatic alternation of samples, but rather
give users direct control. The electronic samples are all derived from the acoustic
samples in the library. As a result, they are very original sounding, but also quite
familiar. There is even an organic velocity switching tech kit and other goodies like
metal shop and prepared piano.
