On behalf of the European Volleyball Confederation I would therefore sincerely thank the local Organizing Committee and promoters for all their devotion in the preparation of this event which is mainly conceived as an exhibition of the most promising European talents whose likes will certainly fire up the Beach Volleyball arena in the years to come. The first Hebrew City, founded 102 years ago on a sandy hill opposite the blue Mediterranean Sea has developed into a lively, vibrant and energetic metropolis, a center of culture, art and sport. The Israeli Volleyball Federation is greatly privileged to host the 2011 CEV U20 Beach Volleyball European Championship. We congratulate the Federation, and thank the CEV for its decision to hold the Championship in Israel. Our sun-drenched beaches are a perfect venue for the competitions. Tel Aviv – Yafo is a city which loves, cherishes and nurtures both amateur and professional sports. Sports are an important tool in encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle which leads to the strengthening of values such as excellence, persistence and fair conduct. In order to promote physical activities in the city we invest in many clubs and sporting facilities. We also hold many national and international sporting events. For example, The U- 18 European Basketball Championships, The Water-Skiing World Championships, the Athletics European Cup and the European RSX Windsurfing Championships to name just a few. The U - 20 European Beach Volleyball Championships is another exciting addition. We welcome the 24 women’s and 24 men’s teams participating in the Championship, and wish them success, guided by the precepts of fair play, teamwork and sporting spirit, and remembering that sport teaches us to win honestly and to lose with dignity. We are proud to host the players and the participants of this event in Tel Aviv – Yafo in which 48 teams from around Europe will be competing. Participating in the championship provides the young athletes with a wonderful opportunity to win the recognition and honor they deserve while enjoying a variety of attractions and recreational activities offered by our lovely and lively city. I would like to thank the organizers of the championship, the Israeli Volleyball Federation, the C.E.V and all the partners whose cooperation enabled this event. I wish all the teams good luck and applaud the spectators who came to be a part of this wonderful volleyball festivity. ט' בכוכב יאיר ובהמשך בהפועל כפר סבא ,שב לשחק כדורעף לאחר השירות הצבאי אבל כמו שהבין כבר מגיל צעיר ,החליט לפנות לאימון .למעשה ,את קריירת האימון החל עוד בימיו כנער בכוכב יאיר ולאחר שנות השירות בצה"ל חזר לממש את חזונו" .מאז ומעולם אהבתי כדורעף חופים" אמר לאתר איגוד הכדורעף, "כשנערכה אליפות אירופה עד גיל 20בישראל ב ,2005-נבחרתי לשמש כעוזרו של המאמן השבדי סימון דאל ,שאימן את נבחרת ישראל ומאותו רגע ידעתי שהענף הזה ,הוא הענף האהוב עליי וכי זה ענף הכדור שחייב להיות הענף הלאומי של ישראל". מאז אותה אליפות נותר חיימי בקשר הדוק עם המאמן השבדי ויחד ,יצאו השניים לאמן זוגות סקנדינביים ,גברים ונשים בפורטאלסה שבברזיל ,מקום שהיה ידוע כחממה עולמית לשחקני כדורעף חופים .שקד נזכר באותה תקופה" ,באותה שנה, שתי אלופות העולם הנוכחיות לאריסה וג'וליאנה התאמנו באותו מקום .אז הן הובילו את הסבב העולמי ובנוסף אליהן התאמנו שם גם פאביו ומארסיו ,זוג הגברים שהוביל את הסבב העולמי באותה תקופה .זכיתי לראות אימונים ברמה הגבוהה ביותר במשך ארבעה חודשים נהדרים .העבודה עם הזוגות הסקנדינביים תרמה לי רבות ברמה המקצועית". שקד ,שזכה לשהות לצד השחקנים והמאמנים הטובים בעולם למד מהטובים ביותר את שיטות האימון המתקדמות לפיתוח הענף בכלל ושחקנים בפרט .הוא מאמין כי גם בישראל אפשר לייצר תרבות כדורעף חופים למרות הקשיים" ,סימון דאל המאמן השבדי הגיע פעמיים למקום ה 9-במשחקים האולימפיים כשחקן ,כשהוא התמודד ברמה שווה מול הטובים ביותר. כששהיתי בברזיל ,ראיתי אותו משחק ברמה גבוה ביותר מול פאביו ומארסיו הברזילאיים .למעשה ,השבדי התאמן בבית באולמות עם חול בימי החורף והכל בכדי להתכונן ולהגשים את החלום האולימפי שלו .לכן ,אני מאמין שדרך עבודה קשה, שכוללת הבאה ארצה של שחקנים בכירים מהעולם בכדי שיעלו את רמת היריבות של השחקנים המקומיים ותפורים בדיוק לענף הנפלא הזה". לקראת האליפות נבנתה נבחרת חדשה כמעט לחלוטין ,למעט יעל לוטן וקרן גליק שהופיעו בשנה שעברה באליפות אירופה עד גיל 18וסיימו אותה במקום ה .13זוג הבנות הנוסף באליפות אירופה שתפתח החודש בחוף גורדון בתל אביב תהיינה זהר שושן וספיר ראובני שאת קריירת הכדורעף שלהן החלו במכבי חדרה .זהר וספיר משחקות בשנים האחרונות בליגת כדורעף החופים במקומית ,אבל במסגרת ההכנות בשלושת החודשים האחרונים לקראת האליפות ,הן העלו את הרמה והתאקלמו נהדר על החול .בבנים ,נתי אוחנה ואלכס קופזון ,בוגרי הפנימייה ,ישתפו פעולה יחד .אוחנה כבר הופיע באליפות אירופה עד גיל 18לפני שנתיים .קופזון ,חסר ניסיון בכדורעף חופים ועבורו זה יהיה טורניר ראשון בקריירה הצעירה .הזוג השני ,אלון סנדרוביץ' ושלו סעדה כבר היו בסגל הרחב של הנבחרת בשנה שעברה ,אבל לא נבחרו לסגל הסופי .גם להם זו תהייה הופעת בכורה בטורניר בינלאומי .שקד חיימי נפעם מההשקעה של חבורת השחקניות והשחקנים בחודשים האחרונים" :קו האימון שאני מאמין בו ,הוא לעבוד קשה יותר מהמתחרים שלך וכך ,החבר'ה אכלו חול בשני אימונים יומיים בשלושת החודשים האחרונים ונתנו את כול כולם לטובת המשימה .עבורי הם יחידה מובחרת .אני גאה שהם ייצגו את המדינה באליפות מכיוון שאני מאמין שלייצג את ישראל באירוע ספורטיבי שכזה הוא חלק מהמלחמה היומיומית של כולנו על קיומנו כאן שחקניות וזאת למעשה הקבוצה כולה .אין צורך לשלב שישה שחקנים כמו באולם ,שזו משימה מורכבת יותר" .אני חושב שבהסתכלות לעבר כדורעף חופים ,צריך לראות בו ענף נפרד לחלוטין מכדורעף אולמות ,בדיוק כמו השוני בין טניס לטניס שולחן ...בשנה האחרונה הייתי בקורס מאמני כדורעף חופים בארה"ב ושם ,הענף זוכה לפיתוח באופן נפרד מכל ענף אחר ולמעשה ילדים בגיל צעיר שואפים להגיע אליו ולעסוק בו בדיוק כמו כל ענף אחר .זה צריך The sport development and its potential for achievements in the international arena led to a mutual program by the Israeli Volleyball Federation and the Israeli Olympic Committee to take forward both male and female pairs, who would train and compete abroad. This was for the purpose of preparations for the 2004 Olympic Games. Plenty of resources were put in this program, but unfortunately it failed and was terminated several months later. In 2003, annual activities were split in two: Indoor Volleyball season between September and April and Beach Volleyball between June and August. The Beach Volleyball leagues for clubs were set up. In 2005, Israel hosted the Under-20 European Beach Volleyball Championship. It was the first international event that was hosted in Israel for decade. The event, which was well organized, received high praise from the 20 participating countries and from the European Volleyball Federation (CEV). The Israeli Volleyball Federation tried to use the good momentum form the European championship and decided to take action to develop the sport. Several professional Beach Volleyball coaches were brought to Israel to help advance the Israeli coaches. Accordingly, the preparations of several pairs for the European and World championship commenced. One of the Spanish Junior Beach Volleyball coaches came to Israel and worked for 4 months, together with a local coach, in order to develop the player’s skills and abilities. 13 12 כדורעף חופים בישראל -היסטוריה והתפתחות כדורעף חופים הוא ענף ספורט מתפתח בישראל .הרשתות הראשונות נראו בחופי ישראל בתחילת שנות השמונים של המאה הקודמת .חלק מהשחקנים הישראלים באו מארה"ב והביאו את הספורט החדש איתם .התחרות הראשונה של כדורעף חופים התקיימה בחיפה ב.1990- בשנת 1995 -התקיימה בפעם הראשונה אליפות ארצית של בתי ספר בכדורעף חופים 90 .קבוצות ( 3שחקנים בקבוצה) התחרו בטורניר של יום אחד .עם הזמן מימדי האירוע גדלו ,והיום זהו אחד מאירועי הספורט הגדולים בארץ. שנה לאחר מכן ,במסגרת תוכנית העבודה השנתית של איגוד הכדורעף בישראל ,תוכננו 50אתרים של כדורעף חופים -שני מגרשים בכל אתר .בנוסף תוכנן להקים 20מרכזים של כדורעף חופים שיושלמו עד .2001לצער כולנו החזון הזה לא התגשם. Today, the two cities are officially one called, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and while they may look and feel quite different, they complement and complete on another.
