Stations WLTV-TV, WAMI-TV
The purpose of this EEO Public File Report (“Report”) is to comply with Section
73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC‟s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the
Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following station(s): WLTV-TV, WAMI-TV
and is required to be placed in the public inspection files of these stations, and posted on their
websites, if they have websites.
The information contained in this Report covers the time period beginning
September 23, 2011 to and including September 22, 2012 (the “Applicable Period”).
The FCC‟s 2002 EEO Rule requires that this Report contain the following information:
1. A list of all full-time vacancies filled by the Station(s) comprising the Station Employment
Unit during the Applicable Period;
2. For each such vacancy, the recruitment source(s) utilized to fill the vacancy (including, if
applicable, organizations entitled to notification pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(1)(ii) of the
new EEO Rule, which should be separately identified), identified by name, address, contact
person and telephone number;
3. The recruitment source that referred the hire for each full-time vacancy during the Applicable
Period;
4. Data reflecting the total number of persons interviewed for full-time vacancies during the
Applicable Period and the total number of interviewees referred by each recruitment source
utilized in connection with such vacancies; and
5. A list and brief description of the initiatives undertaken pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(2) of
the FCC rules.
Appendices 1, 2 and 3 which follow have been designed, in the aggregate, to provide the
required information. Please note that the numbers listed on Appendix 2 under the column
entitled “Full-time Positions for Which This Source Was Utilized” refer to the number of the
full-time job positions listed on Appendix 1.
For purposes of this Report, a vacancy was deemed “filled” not when the offer was
extended but when the hire accepted the job offer. A person was deemed “interviewed” whether
he or she was interviewed in person and/or over the telephone.

Section 3: Supplemental (Non-Vacancy Specific) Recruitment Activities Undertaken by
WLTV-TV, WAMI-TV.
Participation in Job Fairs--(Initiative #1):
On September 23, 2011, Univision WLTV/WAMI – Miami participated in the Florida
International University Fall 2011 Career Fair from 3:00 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m. The booth was
manned by Rosa Perez HR. Information was provided to the students regarding employment
opportunities at Univision WLTV/WAMI.
On February 15, 2012, Univision WLTV/WAMI – Miami participated in the Career Fair at FIU
Biscayne Bay Campus from 11:00 a,m. thru 3:00 p.m. The booth was manned by Leonor
Guerrero, Director of Finance, Rosa Perez HR and Quenia Nuñez Art Director. Information was
provided to the students regarding employment opportunities at Univision WLTV/WAMI.
Internship Program--(Initiative #5):
The stations WLTV-23 and WAMI-69 have an internship program, which allows college
students to gain experience in their field of study. For example, in the News Department, interns
sit in the assignment desk, go on stories with Reporters & Photographers, and learn the day to
day tasks of Producers, Writers and Editors. In the Public Affairs Department, interns learn how
to produce and write a script for a story and in the Promotions Department, they learn how to
produce promos and commercials. The program had students from Florida International
University, Florida State University, Miami Dade College, and Centro Cinematografico de
Audio y Television. Since September12th, 2011, the stations have had nine interns from the
above-mentioned institutions participate in internships at the stations.
Scholarship Programs--(Initiative #7):
1. The stations partner with NATAS to sponsor a scholarship program opened to students
attending Miami-Dade and Broward accredited colleges and universities who are
majoring in Communications/Broadcasting with a concentration in Television. The
station is actively involved in reviewing applications, interviewing the potential
recipients and selecting the awardees. In 2012, six students received scholarships totaling
$11,000. The students were from Miami Dade College (3), the University of Miami (1),
Florida International University (1), and Nova Southeastern University (1).

2. The stations have developed a comprehensive program known as “Orgullo de Nuestra
Juventud” (Pride of our Youth) to foster academic success in local Hispanic youth. The
program contains many on-air elements, and culminates at an awards luncheon hosted by
our on-air talent and attended by managers and employees from all station departments.
Station personnel attending the event mingle with students and parents and discuss their
careers in the broadcasting industry. The Academic Excellence/Community Service
Award is open to South Florida and Broward high school students who have achieved a
high GPA and demonstrated an outstanding commitment to civic duty and community
service. The Academic Achievement Award is open to South Florida and Broward high
school students who have demonstrated academic growth in spite of significant
limitations and/or challenges, rather than the attainment of a specific GPA. Ten students
were awarded this year. This year‟s award recipients were from Dr. Michael M. Krop
High School (2), G. Holmes Braddock Senior High (1), Mater Academy Charter High
School (1), Western High School (1), School for Advanced Studies-Homestead Campus
(1), Miami Carol City Senior High School (1), Westland Hialeah Senior High (1),Alonso
and Tracy Mourning S.H. (1) and Ronald Reagan HS (1). All winners received a
personalized trophy, Papa John‟s Pizza & Publix Supermarkers, gave $10,000, and
$20,000. In addition, Miami-Dade College will provide each student, who attends the
institution, with a full scholarship, and BrandsMart USA provided each student with gift
certificates totaling $1,500.
3. The stations have partnered with Papa John‟s Pizza and Nova Southeastern University to
recognize outstanding South Florida teachers with “Un Maestro Especial” (A Special
Teacher) award. This award was created to celebrate teachers who go above and beyond
the call of duty and have a distinct and profound impact on students. Part of this process
is to create a video profiling the winning teachers and their students. This video is
created by our station crew with the help and involvement of the students and teachers.
Students and teachers acquire basic familiarity in video production and can witness part
of what it takes to be a producer and photographer at a television station. In 2012, the 10
winners, selected from over 80 applications submitted by students, parents and
professional colleagues, were from Lady of the Lakes, St. Jerome School, FeinbergFisher K-8, Belen Jesuit, South Miami Middle, South Miami Senior High, Miami Senior
High, Bridgepoint Academy, Miami Coral Park Senior High, Aventura Waterways K-8.
Each teacher received $1,000 from Papa John‟s Pizza and $3,500 of tuition
reimbursement from Nova Southeastern University.
Training Programs Designed to Allow Employees to Advance to Higher Positions-(Initiative #8):
The stations provide tuition reimbursement for study or training to further employee careers.
Within the „applicable period‟ of this report, 1 employee pursued additional skills in their areas
with a total of $3,060.00 in tuition reimbursements.

Participate in at Least Four Events or Programs Sponsored by Educational Institution-(Initiative #10)
The stations participated in Career Day events, sponsored by Miami-Dade County Public
Schools (3/1/12), were Eduardo Rodriguez Chief Meteorologist presented to over 100 student
and motivating them to pursue the study of science one day.
University of Miami (4/12/12, Kinlock Park Elementary School (5/08/12), and Miami Springs
Elementary (5/23/12). Participating in these events were, Anchor Jorge Hernandez, Anchor
Eileen Cardet, and Anchor Weather Eduardo Rodriguez.
Univision 23 participates in an effort to promote reading in public schools through the “Club de
Libros” (Reading Club) program which provides students with a basis for bilingual education
through reading. The program lasts throughout the school year. Maria Fernanda Lopez – News
Reporter goes once a week to different Dade/Broward public schools to read a Spanish book to
students in grades K-8 and additionally both the Reporter and Photographer speak to the teachers
and students about their careers at a television station and answer any questions. Within the
„applicable period‟ of this report, the stations visited 26 different schools. The stations air the
weekly reading segments throughout the school year. The objective of this campaign is to
promote bilingual reading, highlight the importance of reading in education and the positive
messages that can be found in books.
The stations participate in a school based initiative to increase environmental awareness among
Hispanic youths through “Club Planeta Vision”. Paola Elorza – Environmental News Reporter
visits twice a month, Miami Dade County Public School classes who prepare school based
activities and events to educate and inform students on the importance of environmental
awareness issues. Additionally both the Reporter and Photographer speak to teachers and
students about their careers at a television station and answer any questions. Within the
„applicable period‟ of this report, the stations visited 6 different schools. The program falls
under Univision‟s “Es el Momento Education” network based initiative. The curriculum was
developed in conjunction with Miami Dade County Public School‟s Science Department, a
South Florida environmental awareness organization. The stations air segments during
Univision-23‟s news broadcasts.
The stations participated in a company based education initiative “Es El Momento Futuro
Program” to educate and inform our community on the most important education issues with the
goal of increasing the number of Hispanic students graduating from both high school and
college. Information and applications were sent to local high schools in Miami Dade County.
Applications were received and students were invited to attend four workshops at our Studios.
The workshops took place on four Saturdays (9/24/11, 11/12/11, 2/25/12, and 4/21/12). There
were presenters from Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College, University of
Miami, Florida International University, College Board, Autism Speaks, Amigos for Kids, and
Hispanic Scholarship Funds, who spoke to the students on different themes (e.g. applying for
college, taking the SAT, financial aid, and community service). Cesar Conde, President,
Univision Network, Angela Ramos, Publics Affairs Director, Eileen Cardet and Jenny Padura,
Anchor and Reporter, Noticias 23, spoke to the students about the Company, the television
industry and their respective positions. Employees served as mentors to these students assisting
them and their parents and gave them a tour of the facilities. They also discussed what they do
and answered questions about the Company and the Industry.

Training to management level personnel--(Initiative #14)
On September 11, 2012, supervisors and managers with hiring authority of WLTV/WAMI –TV
(Miami) attended a training session to ensure equal employment opportunity compliance and
prevention of discrimination. The training was given by Rosa Perez, Human Resources Manager
