Glasbena šola Gornja Radgona v
sodelovanju z Zdraviliščem Radenci
d.o.o. razpisuje 1. Mednarodno poletno
šolo za klasični in jazz saksofon
Saxophone power 2010, ki se bo
odvijala od 26. 8. do 29. 8. 2010 v
Zdravilišču Radenci.
Dobrodošli v kraje prijaznih ljudi, ki ležijo na
desnem bregu reke Mure na meji z Avstrijskim mestom Bad Radkersburg. Vrhunsko
razvito vinogradništvo s turizmom v Gornjo
Radgono privabi veliko turistov, ki se kasneje
vedno znova radi vračajo. Lepo urejena in
privlačna klet – hiša penin, v lasti družbe Radgonske gorice d.o.o., že od leta 1852 slovi po
Zlati radgonski penini.
Ob reki Muri se nahaja tudi Občina Radenci
z odličnim Zdraviliščem Radenci, s skoraj
stotridesetletno tradicijo, ki slovi po mineralni
vodi, kvalitetni zdraviliški ponudbi, prijaznosti
in gostoljubju.
V tem delu severovzhodne Slovenije za
glasbeno izobraževanje ter glasbeno umetniški razvoj regije že vse od leta 1950 skrbi
Glasbena šola Gornja Radgona, ki je srednje
velik samostojni javni vzgojno-izobraževalni
zavod. Visoko strokovno usposobljen kolektiv
je zaslužen, da naše učenke in učenci doma in
po svetu prejemajo zavidljiva priznanja in nagrade. Ob izvajanju splošnega programa glasba in ples, posvečamo veliko časa skupinskemu ustvarjanju v komornih igrah, otroškem
pevskem zboru, pihalnem, harmonikarskem
in kitarskem orkestru ter Big bandu Glasbene
šole Gornja Radgona & Radgonske gorice.
Ponosni smo na mnoge nekdanje učence, ki
so danes mednarodno priznani umetniki in
odlični glasbeni pedagogi. Ravnatelj šole je

V tem za nas jubilejnem letu, ko praznujemo
60 let neprekinjenega glasbeno izobraževalnega dela, pričenjamo z organizacijo in izpeljavo 1. Mednarodne poletne šole za klasični
in jazz saksofon Saxophone power 2010 z
vrhunskimi predavatelji. Potekala bo 4 dni v
prostorih Zdravilišča Radenci.

Namen poletne šole je spoznavanje raznovrstne glasbene literature za ta izredno popularni inštrument, učenje tehnik igranja, igranje
v komornih zasedbah in sestava orkestra
saksofonov, ki nedvomno pomeni posebno
izvajalsko osvežitev glasbene ponudbe. Vse
to bo potekalo ob uživanju v odlični in pestri
hotelsko-termalni ponudbi Zdravilišča Radenci, kjer bodo slušatelji deležni vsega udobja in
se bodo lahko pustili razvajati.
Umetniški vodja poletne šole je mag. Oto
Vrhovnik, koncertni saksofonist in glasbeni
pedagog ter profesor na Univerzi za glasbo in
upodabljajočo umetnost na Dunaju. Ob njem
bo predaval še Thomas Kugi (jazz saksofon)
iz Univerze za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost na Dunaju in trije profesorji asistenti:
Rok Volk, Aleš Logar in Gorazd Topolovec.
Potrudili se bomo, da bo tovrstno glasbeno
izobraževanje in izpopolnjevanje postalo
tradicionalno in da ga bomo z leti nadgrajevali ter dopolnjevali z drugimi inštrumenti in
še bogatejšim programom. Že prvo leto pa se
obeta vznemirljivo poletno druženje ljubiteljev in poznavalcev glasbe.

which will be held from 26. 8. to 29. 8.
2010 in Zdravilišče Radenci.
Welcome to the land of friendly people,
located on the right bank of the Mura river
on the border with the Austrian town Bad
Radkersburg. Superb wine tourism developed
in Gornja Radgona attracts many tourists who
later want to return again and again. Beautifully decorated and attractive wine cellar
- sparkling wine house, owned by Radgonske
gorice d.o.o., a company, known since 1852 for
its Zlata Radgonska Penina.
Along the Mura River is also a municipality Radenci where an excellent Radenci spa
is located (Zdravilišče Radenci d.o.o.). With
almost 130 year tradition, they are known for
its mineral water. Radenci spa offers quality,
friendliness and hospitality.
Music school Gornja Radgona, which is a medium-sized independent public educational
institution, is located in this part of northeastern Slovenia. It spreads music education
and musical arts development in the region
since the year 1950. Highly qualified collective
attributes that our students receive enviable
awards and prizes at home and abroad. In the
general educational program of music and
dance, we pay a lot of time in chamber music
to create chamber groups, children’s choir,
wind, accordion and guitar orchestra and
Big Band of Music School Gornja Radgona
& Radgonske gorice. We are proud of many
former students who are now internationally recognized artists and great musicians.
School head is Thomaž Polak, prof.
In this special year, in which Music school
Gornja Radgona celebrates 60 years of uninterrupted musical education, we are starting
with the organization of 1. International Summer School for classical and jazz saxophone
Saxophone power 2010 with exellent mentors. The classes will take place in Zdravilišče
Radenci for 4 days.

The purpose of the School is learning about
the diverse musical literature for this very
popular instrument, learning techniques of
playing, playing in chamber ensembles and
orchestra, which clearly constitutes a special
enrichment. All this will take place while enjoying the excellent and varied hotel and Spas
offer of Zdravilišče Radenci, where students
will receive all the comfort and will be able to
be pampered.
Artistic Director of the International Summer
School is mag. Oto Vrhovnik from Slovenj
Gradec (SLO), concert saxophonist and music
teacher and professor at the University of
Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna. Jazz
will be taught by Thomas Kugi (jazz saxophone), also from the University of Music and
Dramatic Arts in Vienna and three professors
assistants: Rok Volk, Gorazd Topolovec and
Aleš Logar.
We will endeavor to make this type of musical
education and training become traditional
and that we will build it over the years and
complement with other instruments and a
richer program. The first year promises an
exciting summer gathering of music lovers
and connoisseurs.

Oto Vrhovnik je študiral glasbo v Mariboru,
Gradcu in Parizu. Svoje znanje za klasični
saksofon je izpopolnjeval tudi pri svetovno
znanih saksofonistih kot so npr. Jean – Marie
Londeix, Daniel Deffayet, itd. Leta 1979 je začel poučevati klasični saksofon na Konzervatoriju v Gradcu, leta 1985 pa je začel kot prvi
in edini poučevati klasični saksofon na Dunaju. Je mednarodno priznan pedagog ter solist. Poleg solističnega in komornega muziciranja igra tudi z različnimi orkestri, sodeloval
je tudi kot orkestralni glasbenik z Dunajskimi
in Berlinskimi filharmoniki, v Državni operi na
Dunaju, na Poletnih igrah v Salzburgu itd. Oto
Vrhovnik je ustanovil tudi svoj kvartet saksofonov (Saxovhovnik – kvartet) ter saksofonski
orkester na Dunaju Saxophon - projekt XII.
Je redni profesor za klasični saksofon na Univerzi za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost na
Dunaju. Svojo glasbeno ustvarjanje dopolnjuje tudi kot dirigent, z lastnimi kompozicijami,
priredbami, snemanjem radijskih in tv oddaj,
CD-jev, itd.

Oto Vrhovnik studied music in Maribor, Graz
and Paris. He perfected his knowledge of
classical saxophone in the classes of worldrenowned saxophonists such as Jean - Marie
Londeix, Daniel Deffayet, etc. In 1979 he
began teaching classical saxophone at the
Conservatory in Graz. In 1985 he started and
founded the first class of classical saxophone
at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts
in Vienna. Oto Vrhovnik is an internationally
recognized professor and soloist. In addition
to solo and chamber music making he also
plays with various orchestras, participates as
an orchestral musician with the Vienna and
Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna State Opera,
the Summer Games in Salzburg, etc. Oto
Vrhovnik has also established his own Saxophone Quartet (Saxovhovnik - quartet) and
saxophone orchestra in Vienna Saxophone
- Project XII. Currently he is a professor of
classical saxophone at the University of Music
and Dramatic Arts in Vienna. His musical
activities include conducting, composing,
making arrangements, recording CDs, participating in radio and tv broadcasts, etc.

Rok Volk, spec. profesor, je diplomiral na
Akademiji za glasbo v Ljubljani, kjer je tudi
končal podiplomski študij specializacije v
razredu prof. Matjaža Drevenška. Med študijem
se je dve leti izpopolnjeval v Parizu (prof. Jean
Yves Fourmeau in Philippe Portejoie), sedaj je
vpisan na magistrski študij na Univerzi za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost na Dunaju. Je
nagrajenec številnih državnih ter mednarodnih
tekmovanj. Deluje v Sloveniji in tujini kot solist
(Slovenska filharmonija, RTV Slovenija, SNG
Maribor..), komorni glasbenik in profesor saksofona na Glasbeni šoli Gornja Radgona.
Rok Volk, spec. professor, he graduated from
the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where he
also completed postgraduate specialization in
the class of prof. Matjaž Drevenšek. He spent
two years perfecting in Paris (Prof. Jean Yves
Fourmeau and Philippe Portejoie), and is now
enrolled in a master’s degree at the University
of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna. Rok Volk
is a winner of many national and international
competitions. His activities are in Slovenia and

chamber musician and professor of saxophone

GORAZD TOPOLOVEC

Gorazd Topolovec, profesor, je diplomiral na
Visoki šoli za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost v Gradcu. Trenutno zaključuje podiplomski študij, smer klasični saksofon na Univerzi
na Dunaju. Kot vsestranski glasbenik sodeluje
pri različnih komornih zasedbah in orkestrih iz
različnih glasbenih zvrsti. Kot pedagog poučuje saksofon in komorno igro na glasbeni šoli in
umetniški gimnaziji v Velenju. Njegovi učenci
in dijaki dosegajo izjemne rezultate na različnih državnih in mednarodnih tekmovanjih.
Gorazd Topolovec, professor, graduated from
the High School of Music and Dramatic Arts
in Graz. He is currently completing post-graduate studies, majoring in classical saxophone
at the University of Vienna. As a versatile
musician he is involved in various chamber
ensembles and orchestras from different
music genres. He teaches saxophone and
chamber music at the Music and art school in
Velenje. His pupils are achieving outstanding
results in various national and international
competitions

Aleš Logar, profesor, je diplomiral iz glasbene
pedagogike za saksofon na Univerzi za glasbo in upodabljajočo umetnost na Dunaju, kjer
dokončuje še magistrski študij iz koncertne
smeri. Poučuje na nižji Glasbeni šoli Fran
Korun Koželjski v Velenju ter na nižji in srednji
glasbeni šoli v Celju. Sodeluje z različnimi
orkestri in komornimi skupinami, med drugim
tudi z orkestrom slovenske vojske. Je član
kvarteta saksofonov Celeia.
Aleš Logar, professor, graduated from the
pedagogy of music for saxophone at the
University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, and is completing the master’s degree
majoring in classical saxophone. He teaches
at the Music School Fran Korun Koželjski in
Velenje, and at the Music school in Celje. Aleš
Logar collaborates with various orchestras
and chamber groups, including the Orchestra
of the Slovenian army. He is a member Celeia
Saxophone Quartet.

Rojen na avstrijskem koroškem. Glasbo je
študiral v Celovcu in na Dunaju. Thomas Kugi
je eden od najbolj poznanih in priznanih jazz
saksofonistov v Avstriji. Poleg mednarodnih
solističnih nastopov sklada in aranžira za različne svetovno znane Big Bande. Je priznan
saksofonist tudi za popularno glasbo. Pri
snemalnih projektih in koncertih sodeluje tudi
z znanimi solisti tega sveta, kot so: Chaka
Khan, Gloria Gaynor, The Surpremes, The
Temptations, Omara Portuondo, Marianne
Faithful, Gansch & Roses, Count Basic, Lew
Soloff, Alegre Correa- Group, Jazz Big Band

Orchestra u.v.a. Od leta 2008 poučuje jazz

Born in Carinthia, Austria. He studied music in
Klagenfurt and Vienna. Thomas Kugi is one of
the most celebrated and recognized jazz saxophonists in Austria. In addition to international
appearances he makes arrangements an composes for various world-famous Big Bands.
Recognized saxophonist also for popular
music. While recording and making concerts
he has collaborated with the world famous
soloists such as: Chaka Khan, Gloria Gaynor,
The Surpremes, The Temptations, Omara
Portuondo, Marianne Faithful, Gansch & Roses,
