 SAMPLE TESTING WITH LAB MIXER
If necessary, make dilutions of Halosource LBP2101 and Liquifloc 1%
before sample testing.
Instructions to create dilutions:
What you need:
• 2 clean 20 ml bottles
• 2 clean 1 ml syringes
• 1 clean 10 ml syringe
• HaloKlear LBP-2101
• HaloKlear LiquiFloc 1%
To create a dilution of HaloKlear LBP-2101:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Add 1 ml of LBP-2101 with a clean 1 ml syringe to a clean 20 ml bottle.
To the same bottle, add 9 ml of water with a clean 10 ml syringe.
Shake vigorously to mix the product in the water.
Each drop of the dilution, when added to 500 ml of test sample water, equals 10ppm of
LBP-2101. (Each drop of the undiluted product equals 100 ppm of product in the 500
ml test sample.)
To create a dilution of HaloKlear LiquiFloc 1%:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Add 1ml of Liquifloc 1% with a new syringe to a clean 20 ml bottle.
To the same bottle, add 9ml of water using your 10 ml syringe.
Shake vigorously to mix the product in the water.
Each drop of the dilution, when added to 500 ml of test sample water, equals 10ppm of
LiquiFloc 1%. (Each drop of the undiluted product equals 100 ppm of product in the 500
ml test sample.)
Note: other dilutions may also be done, based on the target dose range.
Now you can begin testing the sample by following these steps:
1. Shake sample container well to mix sample.
2. Add 500ml of sample to each stir container and premix at 300 RPM for 3 min.
3. Add desired amount of LBP to each container and mix at 300 RPM for 2 min.
(Each drop of the diluted LBP2101 solution made above delivers 10ppm of original
product to the test sample. Each drop of the original concentrated material delivers
100 ppm of product)
4. Add desired amount of Liquifloc to each container and mix at 200 RPM for 2 min.
(Each drop of the diluted Liquifloc solution made above delivers 10ppm of original
product to the test sample. Each drop of the original concentrated material delivers
100 ppm of product)
5. Turn RPM down to 30 RPM for 3 - 4 min. to build the flocs.
6. Let settle for 15 minutes and observe results.
7. Always start with a low dose. If flocculation occurs and the desired results are reached,
count the total number of drops used, multiply by the concentration (10 or 100 ppm)
then the total dose will be known. If the desired results are not achieved, repeat steps 3
through 6 above.
