This is a sample of the book that
you receive once you’ve completed
The Day Baby Was Born. Your baby
book is created automatically from
the information you select and
enter during your pregnancy and
immediately following your child’s
birth. You can complete as few or as
many sections as you’d like and the
book will adapt.
You can also upload photos of your
baby and select which pages you
want them to appear on.
Even before the day Tommy was born, he was already on everyone’s minds. This is what
happened while waiting for Tommy to arrive.
WEEK 18
Still haven’t told anyone outside of the family, but I
couldn’t button my pants this morning so I’m not sure
how much longer I can wait.
WEEK 24
Went shopping for some maternity jeans with Mom
today. Ugh…I might wear leggings for the rest of this.
Might have to since I can’t stop chowing pizza.
WEEK 28
I’ll be happy no matter what we’re having, but if it’s a boy
we could name him after Uncle Tommy, and that would
make me very happy.
WEEK 32
Can’t believe Christmas is three weeks away. George was
so excited he bought a teddy bear for the little one, even
though we have months to go.
WEEK 35
New Year’s Eve! Our last one solo. So crazy… next
year is gonna be a really different kind of party.
WEEK 38
HA! I totally forgot to write the day we had the ultrasound. It’s a boy! Tommy it is. George gets to pick the
middle name, so we’ll see how that goes.
i
WEEK 40
Feeling huge. Other than that, all is well, but I really look
forward to seeing my toes again someday. Also looking

allows you to write a journal during
your pregnancy. You can easily

in your book, or you can skip this

When family and friends
found out Tommy was coming,
they were so excited to meet him.
This is what everyone had to say

provide about your baby during
sign-up (and updated following his
or her birth). You can even include
zodiac sign information if you’d like.
Of course, babies don’t just
magically appear
(although it does seem magical). This is what happened on the day Tommy was born.
A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE BABY WAS BORN…
We went to Mario’s for dinner (it was a brand new Italian
place—not sure if it will still be around when you read this).
Your Aunt Danielle wanted to take us out one more time before you arrived. I had the ravioli arrabiata and you were NOT
happy about it. You kicked all night, and I think that’s when
you decided it was time to get out and into the world.
I WAS IN LABOR FOR…
Probably 10 hours total. It was definitely the toughest thing
my body has ever done, but the nurses were amazing and
kept me as comfortable as they could. One of them even went
to college with me. We didn’t know each other then, but we
spent some time talking about places and people we knew.
Small world, huh?
WHEN MY WATER BROKE, I WAS…
Actually just sitting down to watch a movie. I had a giant glass
of lemonade in one hand and for a second I thought I had
spilled it. But, nope, it was you.
I HAD HELP IN THE DELIVERY ROOM FROM…
Your Dad, of course, and Doctor Hovey. And grandma and
grandpa were right outside. The second you were born they
quickly cleaned you up so everyone could come take pictures.
WE GOT TO THE HOSPITAL…
Just in time! Even though we left with plenty of time to go,
there was a ton of traffic that day due to the playoff game. Your
Dad was freaking out, leaning on the horn. I couldn’t help but
laugh, because you were coming no matter where we were!
WHEN THEY HANDED ME THE BABY…
All I could do was look at you and cry. I’ve never seen anything
so perfect. Your dad sat next to me on the bed and we just held
you and touched your little face. Our first moment as a family!
i
If you want to include personal
memories of your baby’s arrival, you
can choose from a variety of topics,
like starting labor or getting to the
hospital. Just fill in the blanks to
create your story.
The world was a little different then.
These are some of the things that were happening on the
day Tommy was born.

And, after Tommy
first entered the world,
someone very special wrote him this letter.
Dear Tommy,
Right now, with you sleeping in the next room, it is the furthest you’ve been
from my arms since you were born. All of 20 feet, and it feels like miles. And
yet, I know you will continue to grow and move through the world. I want
you to. I want you to go as far as you can in life and I will love and support
you every moment.
But not quite yet. For today, you are our tiny, precious baby. And watching
you sleep is the most amazing thing I could possibly do. I never would have
understood this before when I was running around experiencing everything,
trying to cram as much life as possible into each day. But here I am, content.
And it’s because of you. Because I can’t imagine anything better than this.
I want you to know that if I never did another thing on this planet besides
giving birth to you, that would be enough. More than enough. I can’t wait
to share the world with you—visiting places, reading books, playing outside
and walking in the park. Watching your dad play catch with you and cheering
you on as you make your way through life. Even if we someday argue, you will
always be my son, my little boy, and I will always love you with every bit of
my heart and soul.
i
Love always,
Mom
To complete your book, you can

good luck!
