SAMPLE DIVIDING RT 6.5 – RT 75 SAMPLE SPLITTERS SAMPLE DIVIDING RETSCH sample splitters are used for the simple dividing and reduction of bulk materials of all kinds. Sample Splitters are ideal for the on-site reduction of sample material. They are easy to use, easy to clean and do not need an electrical power supply. In every dividing operation, the feed material is halved. This process can be repeated as many times as necessary, as a function of grain size, until the quantity needed for transport or examination purposes has been obtained. The feed grain size up to a maximum of 50 mm and the feed quantities depend on the relevant type. ADVANTAGES Dividing without major expenditure of time Simple and quick to clean Usable in the laboratory and on site Dividing process to DIN 51701, Part 4 High-precision manual dividing process Inexpensive PERFORMANCE FEATURES application: feed stock: Number of dividing quantities: feed size: Vessel volume: Sample dividing Bulk materials 2 max. 50 mm (type RT 75) 2 x 2.5 / 2 x 8 litres SAMPLE DIVIDING RETSCH SAMPLE SPLITTERS ARE AVAILABLE IN 6 SIZES. The choice of unit will depend on the feed size and sample quantity. Because of the volume of the two collecting dishes, in the smaller types RT 6.5 and 12.5 the maximum feed quantity is about 5 litres and in the larger types RT 25 – 75 about 16 litres. Fraction of max. grain size Grain size factor Depending on the grain size, material and grain size distribution, the opening width of the passages should be 1.5 – 3.5 times greater than the diameter of the largest grain (grain size factor). The material runs through the alternately arranged passages in the opposite direction into the two collecting dishes standing under the dividing head outlets. With every operation the feed sample is halved. This can be repeated as many times as necessary until the required dividing quantity has been obtained. The dividing head of the types RT 6.5 and 12.5 is made of stainless steel, the stand is of painted sheet steel and the collecting dishes of tin plate. In the types RT 25, 37.5, 50 and 75, the dividing head, frame and collecting dishes are of hot-dip galvanized sheet steel. Thanks to the open design, the sample splitters are especially easy to clean.
