Five Ways to Make the Chamber
Golf Outing Work for You
Over the past few months, the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Golf Committee
has been diligently planning this year’s Annual Golf Outing, which will take place
on Monday, May 6 at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill. The Chamber’s
outing provides you the opportunity to enjoy a fun day outside of the office in a
setting with other business professionals. So, how can you make the Chamber’s
Golf Outing work for you?
• Employee Development - A day out of the office is a great way to build office
morale. Since the Chamber’s outing is a four-person scramble, it can provide teambuilding as employees compete as a team for first place. Have you considered
rewarding top employees with registrations to the outing?
• Networking - Businesses of all sizes can use the outing as a valuable networking
tool. A great way to do this is to ask to have your employees placed in random
foursomes.
• Customer Appreciation - Show your customers and clients that you appreciate
them with a great day on the course. They will appreciate the thought and can
benefit from the added networking.
• Vendor Development - Most businesses need something from a supplier.
Building relationships with your vendors is a great way to make sure you get the
best quality products and services.
• Marketing - The Chamber’s outing provides a superior method of getting
your message to potential customers. Golf sponsorships give your business great
visibility and start as low as $50. If you are interested in a sponsorship, call Melissa
Anderson at 761-0702 for more information.
Visit the events calendar at www.wschamber.org to register to attend the
Chamber’s Annual Golf Outing today! It is $165 per golfer and includes cart, greens
fee, lunch, and dinner. We’re sure you’ll have a great afternoon with the West Shore
Chamber, so sign up today. Thank you to tournament sponsor, Orrstown Bank for
helping to make this event possible.

Hello From the 2013 Public Relations
& Marketing Committee
Letter from the Public Relations & Marketing Committee Chair, Kristin Hundley &
Vice-Chair, Sarah Barr
The Chamber’s Public Relations & Marketing
Committee has been excited to begin 2013
with a newfound enthusiasm for promoting
all-things West Shore Chamber. Our focus
throughout 2013, and beyond, is to continually
and effectively promote the West Shore
Chamber of Commerce as a whole, its events,
mission and community involvement, but
most importantly, its membership.
The West Shore Chamber’s Facebook
and LinkedIn sites have generated interesting
and informative topics of conversation as
well as bits of information that promote our
members within the Chamber and to non-members as well. We encourage everyone
to “like” and “link” to the West Shore Chamber’s social media pages for a quick, nocost way to tell your company’s story.
In addition, we have turned to the Public Relations & Marketing Committee
members to be more than idea-generators. Each committee member has been
tasked to get involved by writing articles regarding information that membership
will find beneficial to their business, to regularly post on our social media sites,
and continually look for information that will be of value to West Shore Chamber
members. We’ve asked the committee to reach out to other members who may be
interested in joining the committee and those that have expertise in the marketing
and communications fields. As a result, we’ve gained five new members last month,
and expect our committee to grow even more.
We have attended meetings of the other West Shore Chamber committees to
introduce ourselves and learn more about their mission so we can help promote their
initiatives. In turn, we share what we’ve learned with the Public Relations & Marketing
Committee so all of our committee members have a better understanding of each of
the other committee’s goals.
We encourage every West Shore Chamber member to reach out to us with
interesting facts about your business. We want to tell the community about our
membership and keep the West Shore Chamber of Commerce consistently in
the public eye. When done successfully, we can promote our members and gain
new ones. For more information on how you can get involved, please contact the
Public Relations & Marketing Committee Chair, Kristin Hundley of Graphcom
Inc. ([email protected]), Vice-Chair, Sarah Barr of Konhaus Marketing &
Communications ([email protected]), or Chamber Communications Director,
Jorden Smith ([email protected]).
