MSQ MANUAL 2014 ~To Be a TRUE Aromatherapy / Massage Professional~
1. This is Massage Schools of Queensland (MSQ)
In 1988 Massage Schools of Queensland (MSQ) became a Registered Training Organisation. This
requires that the school maintains the highest teaching and professional standards set down by the
Australian Commonwealth and State Governments. All staff and the teaching curriculum is audited
and monitored by the government to ensure those standards.
Moreover, MSQ is affiliated with all massage associations in Australia. This means that Graduates are
able to join most major associations and arrange professional indemnity insurance.
Massage Schools of Queensland is the most experienced Massage School on the Gold Coast and
renowned in Australia and overseas for high academic standards and excellence in teaching, and
professionalism. Courses are designed to provide students with the practical and theoretical skills
required to enter the massage industry. All vocational courses can provide a student visa. We also
offer a variety of short courses from 1 day to 4 weeks.
1-1. MSQ PHILOSOPHY
 PLENTY of lessons and training!
Students normally have classes 3 days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am
to 4pm. In addition to lessons, students have to do Student Clinic (on campus training) and
Logbook Hours (out of campus training). They are assessed if they understand the lesson by
workbook after every lesson as well as a final assessment and an assignment.
Therefore, our students have sound knowledge and skills and graduates have a strong
confidence as a therapist.
 GREAT SUPPORT for international students!
*Orientation for international: The day before commencement
*Supplementary instruction: Friday morning during Certificate IV course
*Counselling: MSQ staff is always open to students
 Develop Personality and CREATIVITY
MSQ does not provide stereotypical training. We encourage the student to be unique in the way
they perform their massage. This enhances their CREATIVITY and enables them to provide the
BEST possible treatment for the client.
Therefore, our graduated students can open their own business and maintain good consistent
patronage.
 Emotional & Physical WELLNESS!
MSQ teaches students how to maintain their own physical & emotional states. They can NOT
treat their clients or the treatment is not effective, if they are not healthy and grounded. Also,
students will learn how to establish faithful relationships with their clients so that the treatment
will be more effective.
1-2. SECURE MSQ
 MSQ have received audits from Australian Government
MSQ is monitored and received audits by the government, and confirmed that MSQ maintains the
highest teaching and professional standards set down by the Australian Commonwealth and State
Governments to accept international students.

I am pleased to be associated with the Massage Schools of Queensland.
In 2003, I graduated "Dux of the School" with a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Their invaluable education and guidance gave me the required knowledge and skills to practice as a
fully qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. Our instructors gave us confidence to face almost every
known condition we encounter.
I have been running a thriving practice at Salon Shiva at Bell Place Centre in Mudgeeraba for the last
4 years. Many doctors, physiotherapists and chiropractors are continually referring their patients to
me.
My clients feel comfortable that they are under my capable healing hands.
I would thoroughly recommend the Massage Schools of Queensland to be the best in this state.

Correct Body Maintenance
I, Heidi Edwards, finished my Diploma of Remedial Massage at Massage Schools of Queensland in
December 2005.
I found the courses at MSQ to be well structured and the faculty and teachers and lecturers are all
professional and ethical - traits that they also instill in their students. I have completed other courses
prior to attending Massage Schools of Queensland, so I know this from my own personal experience.
The wealth of experience and knowledge of the teachers and lecturers at MSQ made my learning
experience both easy and pleasurable as they shared in my passion for massage.
With the skills I have learnt, I now own my own business and employ two receptionists and four
other Remedial Massage Therapists (soon to be five or six). Three of these therapists come from
MSQ.
I have previously hired therapists from other colleges and have found the depth of knowledge limited
compared to therapists trained by MSQ. So it is with great pleasure that
I can recommend Massage Schools of Queensland to anyone who wants to learn more about
massage therapy or who wants to start in this wonderful profession.
