Assembling a Reflok® joint takes a few simple steps

1. Choose the correct jaw set for the tool.
2.Select the correct insert for the tube you are joining.
Gold = coiled aluminium tube
Black = coiled copper tube
3. Cut pipe to length and de-bur ensuring burs do not fall into the pipework.
4. Ensure the tube is completely round. If tube is deformed it may be difficult to fit the insert.
5. Push the insert into the pipe.
6. Slip the fitting onto the nut and make sure it is fully inserted. Mark the pipe showing position of fitting.
7. Remove fitting, slip nut onto pipe with the chamfered (bevelled) edge pointing towards the fitting.
8. Apply a small amount of Loctite 609 to the outside tube surface.
9. Place the fitting onto the tube rotating the fittings (or tube) so that the Loctite is distributed across the tube surface.
10. Slide the nut up so it touches the fitting.
11. Present the tool to the fitting making sure the groove in the middle of the fitting sits fully into the saddle of the jaws.
12.Keeping the tube/fitting in the alignment required, start the tool. Keep the trigger fully depressed until the tool
reaches a pre-set pressure and releases the jaws.
13.Remove the tooling. On larger sizes the nut may not be fully up to the fitting, or it may be slightly offset.
This is not a problem, however if you wish, rotate the tool/fitting slightly and re start the tool as required.

Specification: AS/NZS 1677.2:1998 (+A2), Clause 3.2: Component Design Pressure
The design pressure for each component shall be not less than the maximum operating pressure of the system or part system.
Any components or fittings shall comply with an applicable Australian or New Zealand Standard. The suitability of any
component not dealt with by such a Standard shall be determined by the ability to withstand, without bursting, a hydrostatic
pressure test not less than 3 times the design pressure applicable to the component applied for not less than 1 min.
Detail:
Requirement: Assembly able to withstand hydrostatic pressure that is not less than 3 times the design pressure for a minimum
of 1 minute, at a temperature of not less than 59 ºC. The sample shall not burst during and after the hydrostatic test.
The design pressure was specified by Armacell as the saturation pressure of the refrigerant R410a at 60ºC.

Dear Mr Hodson:
I have reviewed test reports of Thermal Conductivity according to ASTM C335,
- G.2-057c/13 of 10/06/13, for Armacell Australia - Armaflex FRV, and
- G.2-058c/13 of 14/06/13, for Armacell Australia - Armaflex FRV,
provided by FIW Munich, recognized testing, surveillance and certification body for thermal insulation
products with ISO 17025 accreditation.

On the basis of the results, a conservative estimate of thermal conductivity of 0.035 (W/m.K) at 23°C has
been applied to determine the Material R-values of the following Kuhlpair pair-coil, Armaflex FRV
products in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.1 Clause 2.3.3.8. These Material R-values are reported to two
significant figures in accordance with AS/NZS 4859.1 Clause 3.1.
