INTRODUCTION
Thank you for having chosen a Bourg product.
These instructions provide a guidance for operate the BHCE.
The Bourg High Cap Elevator (BHCE) is a link between the High Capacity Stackers and a
Perfect Binder, a guillotine or any other manually loaded machine.
It accepts carts with offsetted sets printed on either:
• a Xerox,
• Heidelberg,
• IBM digital printer,
and stacked on:
• HCSX,
• HCSK.
Carts from a Bourg receiving tray (TD-t) can also be used in the BHCE.
It raises the piles to a constant level so that the operator can feed the sets manually into a binder, or any type of finishing equipment.
NOTE: Please follow the installation instructions before connecting the system to the
mains.
If you follow carefully these instructions, the BHCE will provide excellent service for years.
In case of problems when you use your equipment, please refer to the addresses listed at the
end of these instructions and ask for technical assistance. It will be our pleasure to provide you
with this assistance.
The information provided in this manual is based on the most recent information available at
the time of editing.

Install the machine in adequate place:
- close to the binder,
- close to a socket.
To prevent the BHCE to move, the two rear casters can be locked.

1. Power switch
2. Control switch
Pressing shortly on the rocker switch raises or lowers (see label) the pile by steps.
If you press more than one second on the up side, the pile keeps raising untill the top of
the pile reaches the working level, and when you remove sets, the BHCE will adapt automatically the level.
Pressing more than one second on the down side, will lower the cart to the floor.
3. Light
The light on shows that the BHCE is in controlled mode, i.e. that if you remove sets, that
the level will be adapted.
A flashing light shows that the door is not properly closed.
4. Procedure with TD-t carts
Pressing the lowering button at powerup allows to work without holddown bar.
Powering down the BHCE reactivates the presence check.
