the borders of our country. We like to

I wish all the

participants, real
sports pleasures to all
basketball fans.
It is the first time for us to be here and everything is good. We are
hopeful, we will try our best, but here are sixteen teams, and at the
end the best will win. The people here are very nice with us, everybody
is trying to help us a lot – all the people on the information desk and all
the volunteers. This is very good for us, because we are abroad of our
country.

It is very fine to be here in Slovenia. We had a long journey from Sankt
Petersbourg to Milano with the plane, but then we missed our train
connection and we had to wait there for three hours to catch the next
train to Trieste. But now we are here and all the guys are in a good
mood. We wanna play good, play hard and win all the games.

It’s been a long road to get to this championship. We
respect our opponents, bur we have been training
so hard for the last three weeks, and anything can
happen. Our team is divided in two parts – the
women and men, we had a long trip to get here and
we were blocked in traffic because of an accident
for three hours.

First we take the fly to Moscow, than to Zagreb and from there we
take the bus to Ljubljana and than we came here. We have some
problems, it took us one whole day we were very tired. We came from
a place so far away, that in jokes we are always reminded that we are
even not in Europe. But we are good and ready for the competition.

The University of Primorska is the third university in Slovenia. It is located
in Koper, Izola, and Portorož and is named after the Slovenian Littoral
region.
The very first efforts to found a university in the Littoral
were made a hundred years ago, whereas the first
concrete steps towards the establishment of a new
Slovene university were taindependent.
The university is
today divided into
six faculties and
a college, and two
institutes are also a
basic part of it.
Thus 1992 saw the preparation of the expert study
of the development of higher education in the Littoral,
then in 1995 the Slovene Science and Research Centre
was founded in order to garner the intellectual potential of
the future university.
In 1996 come the formation of the University Study Centre of Koper, which
facilitated the development of higher education in the region and prepared the
legal basis for founding the university.

Finally, on 29 January 2003, the Slovene Parliament passed the University of
Primorska Charter.
The university is today divided into six faculties and
a college, and two institutes are also a basic part of it.

the orthopedic hospital Valdoltra

the largest campsites in
Slovenia with 1600 places for
