FOREWORD
“Always strive for excellence” has been the motto of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan since
its inception about 50 years ago. In this year of Golden Jubilee Celebration, it is gratifying that the
teachers, students and all people associated with KVS are still being guided and inspired with the
same motto and making steady strides in the path of progress, glory and success. The worthy
Commissioner, Shri Avinash Dikshit has said in his Message :
“ the quality of education has been the biggest challenge… but… I am sure that with the
dedicated and sincere team with us, we will be able to successfully overcome the challenges and keep
the KVS’ flag flying high”
Being the members of KVS family, it is our duty and responsibility to make our best efforts
to meet the expectations of the Commissioner and other stake-holders of KVS
With this in view, a 3-day Workshop on Strategic Planning for improvement of
performance in Physics was organized at ZIET Mysore from 4th to 6th September, 2013 in which
20 PGTs(Physics) from four Regions, namely Bangalore, Chennai, Ernakulam and Hyderabad
participated. The workshop was ably guided by Mr.Y.G.Patil, Principal, KV Hassan, the Associate
Course Director, two Resource Persons, namely, Mr. G.Gugan,
PGT(Physics),K.V.RWF
Yelahanka, Mr.S.Srinivas,PGT(Physics),K.V.No.1 Tambaram, and the Course Coordinator, Mr. K.
Arumugam, PGT(Physics), ZIET Mysore. The strategies for improvement of performance in
Physics were thoroughly discussed and an effective Action Plan was drawn to achieve quality result
in CBSE Exam. 2014. For making the deliberations systematic and purposeful, the participants
were divided into six groups and the chapters prescribed for Class XII were allocated to them for
in-depth analysis followed by preparation of concept map, Question Bank of 3 levels, Value-based
questions and remediation of common errors of students in respect of each chapter. The materials
so prepared were presented to the whole group for discussion and review, before finalizing them for
consolidation.
In this way, the Workshop helped the participants to draft a clear-cut strategy for
implementation to achieve the goal of quality result in CBSE Exam. 2014 in Physics. The extent of
success of the workshop will be shown by the Exam Results in 2014. I acknowledge with sincere
thanks the great contributions made by, Mr.Y.G.Patil, Principal, KV Hassan , the Associate Course
Director, two Resource Persons, namely, Mr. G.Gugan, PGT(Physics),K.V.RWF,Yelahanka,
Mr.S.Srinivas, PGT(Physics), K.V.No.1 Tambaram, and the Course Coordinator, Mr. K.
Arumugam, PGT(Physics) ZIET Mysore ,all participants and staff and faculty members of ZIET
Mysore for making the workshop fruitful and highly successful.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
“If You fail to plan you can plan to fail”
Class XII can be a demanding and challenging time for students, parents and school as the need to
excel looms large in the minds of the students. The students are at the threshold of their career and
often fall confused about the methodology to follow conceptual clarification ; they sometimes
perceive lack of progress towards meaningful goals which could in turn be overwhelming
experience for them. Hence it is mandatory that a perfect plan for success is structured for the
students.
“The secret of success is the consistency to pursue” . The yardstick to achieving success is putting
in persistent efforts. There can never be any shortcut for success, all successful endeavors are just
the result of intense preparations, hard- work and learning from failures.
The essential three steps to achieve memorable are:
1) Coming together of the students, parents at the school.
2) Keeping together to check the progress.
3) Work together to achieve success.
A good teacher is the one who has a thorough knowledge in the subject and is able to dispense
knowledge. He should strive for the all-round development of the students. He should set as an
example by inculcating proper attitudes and qualities among the students.
For successful teaching one has to follow:
Principle like planning, teaching in class room, Coverage of topic and evaluation, class room
environment.
a) Important techniques of teaching process.
KVS is now celebrating its 50th Year of Golden Jubilee. On this important period
“WIN THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF THE STUDENTS BY OUR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
DEVOTION, DEDICATION COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE STUDENTS AND SCHOOL”.
AIM:
The main objective are to prepare the study materials which consists of concept map with gist of
points and graded question papers of level A,B,C with value based questions. These questions build
the confidence of the students to prepare well for the exam to achieve excellence in their career.
“SUCCESS COMES LIKE CONQUEST BUT NOT LIKE BEQUEST”

TIPS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY RESULT
1) In class XI students should be made to be well versed to use Logarithm tables for solving
numericals.
2) In class XI some preliminary knowledge about Integration, differentiation, trigonometric
formula etc., can be taught in one or two classes. Physics teacher can get assistance from
Mathematics teacher in this regard to impart knowledge to their children.
3) Supplementary students who have cleared their examination can be called immediately by
the teacher to teach the portions which have been covered in class XII. After the Ist monthly
test in class XII slow learners may be asked to come along with their parents to meet the
subject teachers to discuss about their performance and the care to be taken at home by
parents has to be told.
4) Since the coverage of syllabus is by the end of October proper planning and methodical
teaching is important to explain different difficult concepts in Physics.
5) Wherever student find difficult to understand some important concept extra time has to be
allotted to teach and clearing their doubts.
6) Practical related theory portion can be taught in laboratory so that they can have hands on
experience in laboratory to understand the concept clearly.
7) Laboratory should be equipped well not only to conduct practicals but also able to do some
demonstrative experiments in physics which will make the students to understand nicely.
8) Chapterwise all derived final formula has to be noted down in a small note book (pocket
diary) by students after completion of each chapter by the teacher. They should be asked to
remember these formulae again and again which will help them in solving numerical.
9) Meeting the parents of slow learners should be taken up regularly.
10) Study camps during autumn break and winter break can be arranged. During the study
camps the entire class can be divided into two groups (One below average and one above
average) and need based special coaching can be given. Classes may be conducted from 9.00
am to 8.00 p.m. in order to cover substantial quantum of materials.
11) Students who need special care can be called to the Vidyalaya till 25th of February for special
coaching. The gap period between two board exams can also be utilized for coaching.
