RockerBox™—Overview
1
Overview
The document describes the features of the RockerBox chip, a Bitcoin optimized multiple double
SHA-256 engines ASIC.
The RockerBox contain 193 double SHA low-power, high-performance engines, which can be
chained to any number of other RockerBox ASICs via a proprietary serial interface tailored for this
purpose.

Key Features
Double SHA-256 cores
Serial Interface

193 fully-unrolled engines, each
performs a single hash per cycle

Supports any number of devices on a board

Seamlessly adding or reducing devices

Engine integrity test support—BIST


Up to 0.2THash/s in typical process
corner
Addressing scheme to support ASIC
broadcasting transactions

Low pin count – clock, data in, data out

Low power consumption 0.3W/GHps

Can run up to 50 MHz continuous data rate
Power Efficient
Thermal Sensors and thermal shutdown

The RockerBox chip can work in core
voltages 550—800mV

Two thermal sensors configures to eight
levels. Ranges 90 to 125 °C equally spaced.

Each engine can be shutdown for
power save purposes

Thermal sensors can invoke engine
shutdown upon over-heating, to prevent
ASIC meltdown
Configurable PLL

Supports core frequencies
from 500—1500 MHz.
