Dear Colleagues,
Please join us in Chicago for Plastic Surgery The Meeting, October 10-14. Chicago is an amazing city
to visit in the fall and conveniently located in the heart of the Midwest.
We have a wonderful meeting planned that is sure to please everyone who attends. You’ll expand
your knowledge at industry-leading educational courses, discover new trends on the exhibit floor, and
connect with colleagues from around the globe at countless networking and social events.
For those of you who have enjoyed the traditions of our former meetings, you’ll be happy to hear that
we’re bringing back two of our most popular events for this year’s meeting. The Windy City Welcome
Reception is set for Friday and will include entertainment from Chicago’s own Bucket Boys and the famous
Dueling Pianos from Howl at the Moon. You won’t want to miss this kickoff celebration with food,
libations, and music as you reconnect with old friends – and meet some new ones, too! Plus,
the Opening Ceremonies are back by popular demand on Saturday morning this year, featuring an
education panel that combines patient markings and a technique video showcasing the breadth of
our specialty.
For those of you who are looking for something new, we dialed up the educational programming this
year to help you zero in on the topics and subspecialties that matter most. Our new Deep Dive Pathways consist of a blended approach to general sessions, case discussions, live demos, and interactive
media, giving you a focused look into a single procedure in each of our seven content-specific tracks.
Pathways are planned for rhinoplasty, breast reduction, cleft lip, Dupuytren’s contracture, surgical
applications of fat, and the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap.
The Aesthetic General Session has been expanded to a three-day format as a result of its popularity
at last year’s meeting in San Diego, offering even more cosmetic instruction. The Rhinoplasty Society
Symposium will address refinement techniques of primary rhinoplasty and managing secondary
concerns, and the ASMS Symposium will discuss how to remain current with facial restoration in the
age of Maintenance of Certification. Plus, the combined events of Senior Residents Conference/
Residents Day will be in its second year of reformatted programming.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Use this registration brochure to plan your meeting and trip to
Chicago – a city that’s alive with excitement and packed with activities for the entire family. Register
your spouse or guest and they can explore Chicago in style during the day while you are at the meeting and join you for the Welcome Reception, Opening Ceremonies, and more. Then, spend the night
out on the town discovering the endless possibilities the “Second City” has to offer.
We look forward to welcoming you to Chicago!

Every rhinoplasty surgeon wishes to “get it right the

plastic surgeons must also be well-prepared to manage
secondary concerns. Experts from The Rhinoplasty Society
will explore refinement of techniques to master primary
rhinoplasty and will introduce approaches to common
secondary problems. The morning session will follow
a region-by-region approach to the nose; the afternoon
will focus on special topics including ethnic rhinoplasty
variations, functional considerations, and recognition/
avoidance of problem patients. The presenters will discuss
their philosophy, nuances of primary rhinoplasty and pitfall
avoidance, and reliable secondary principles.
Learn how to successfully perform inspections of
ambulatory surgery facilities according to AAAASF
standards. Course topics include: review of the protocol

Acknowledgement
ASPS and The PSF would like to thank our members for their continued support
and interest in patronizing Plastic Surgery The Meeting exhibitors. Registration
fees would be considerably higher without the income generated from exhibitor
participation.
Companies add value when they present quality products and services
addressing the practice needs of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery
professionals. Set aside dedicated time in Chicago to visit with exhibitors and let
them know you value their partnership.
Our gratitude goes out to the ASPS Exhibitor Advisory Council (EAC), which
provides a vital communication link between the Society and its exhibitors.

The revolution starts now
With the first and only Silk-derived Biological Scaffold
Through bioreplacement, SERI Surgical Scaffold facilitates the generation of native, well-vascularized tissue
that is ≈ twice the starting thickness of the scaffold alone at 24 months. *
®
1,
*In a full-scale animal (ovine subcutaneous thoracic wall implant) model study
designed to measure the strength and thickness of newly generated native tissue
at 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months after implantation of SERI® Surgical Scaffold.1
Indications for Use
SERI® Surgical Scaffold is indicated for use as a transitory scaffold for soft tissue
support and repair to reinforce deficiencies where weakness or voids exist that
require the addition of material to obtain the desired surgical outcome. This
includes reinforcement of soft tissue in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and
general soft tissue reconstruction.
Important Safety Information
Contraindications
• Patients with a known allergy to silk
• Contraindicated for direct contact with bowel or viscera where formation
of adhesions may occur
Warnings
• SERI® Surgical Scaffold must be placed in maximum possible contact with
healthy well-vascularized tissue to encourage ingrowth and tissue remodeling
•
Caution should be used when implanting SERI® Surgical Scaffold in pregnant
women. The use of a device that can impede tissue expansion may be
hazardous during pregnancy

formation, and extrusion.
