DARTS & SHOOTING COMPETITION
The competition will take place at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff on Saturday 11th October 2014. This is an
excellent day and open to all members of the Association as well as Associate members. Please contact your
local Branch Secretary for further information.
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
Sunday November 9th 2014. Lunch will be available (pay as you dine) 1300hrs in the Guardsmans’Mess, RHQ,
followed by church service in the Guards Chapel at 1445 hrs. A March Past to the Guards Memorial will take
place after the service. Further information will be available from RHQ Wellington Barracks.
For Remembrance Services in your area please contact your local Branch Secretary.
CHRISTMAS CARD
A copy of the 2014 Christmas card is enclosed and will be available from RHQ Welsh Guards Wellington
Barracks. The cost will be 60 pence per card
CENTENARY BOOK
An excellent book has been written by Trevor Royle, depicting 100 years of the Welsh Guards since their
formation in 1915. A leaflet and application form is enclosed and if ordered before end of July a saving of £15
can be made. (This offer has been extended from March 31st )
This book is a MUST for those who have served, and contains some wonderful photographs from past and
present. It would make an ideal Christmas present for all Welsh Guardsmen and their families.
REGIMENTAL MAGAZINE
If you have any interesting stories to tell / anecdotes / photographs etc then please share them with us since we
are always looking for items of interest for the magazine, and all photographs will be looked after and returned
to the sender if requested.

CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS – 2015
St David’s Day:
In order to proceed with deciding a suitable venue which will be large enough to accommodate everyone, it is
vital that we have an idea of numbers planning to attend. Therefore it is essential that you apply for tickets
ASAP (cost £5 per person – please see application form), either to the Sec. General or your Branch Secretary.
Since this will be a high security event due to the presence of Royalty, entry will be by ticket only – this also
includes children, who will be issued with a free ticket if under the age of 10)
The Association will help Branches to subsidised coach travel at a nominal charge of £5 per person
Presentation of Colours:
This will take place at Windsor Castle on Thursday April 30th 2015.
This event will be by ticket only, the cost of which has yet to be decided
The Association will again help Branches to subsidised coach travel to Windsor at a nominal charge of £5 per
person.
Regimental Battlefield Tour:
Planned for the second week of September 2015, with Captain Rhydian Vaughan as Tour Guide. Further details
and costings will be announced by RHQ in due course
Other events planned for the Centenary Year will be announced in the Regimental magazine
