Common vessels discarded from years gone by as they no longer are useful for daily tasks. I believe Paul is referring to himself as well as all believers as earthen vessels. The contrast is that of a wonderful treasure found in these common everyday vessels. The author of Hebrews writes of Christ, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory” and the exact representation of His being. The Son is exactly what the Father is like, “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father”. (Jn 4:9b) That treasure is Christ! Paul Barnett summarizes the concept or thought of Paul that the face of Jesus shines through us. Satan endeavours to veil, God’s glory and truth coming from the gospel believer, none the less, the “light of the gospel of the glory of Christ” is put out there into the world. (II Cor. 4:3). And by God’s Spirit the very image of God found in Christ Jesus calls men and women to repent and follow Him! 12 October 2014 Welcome to our Worship Service this morning. Darryl Kilker, Senior Pastor Prayer is available after this morning’s service at the front of the worship centre. Our Vision is: To see every person, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, grow in Christ-like character. To see every person’s gifts, ministries and callings identified, endorsed and fully pursued. To see every person’s daily sphere of influence recognized as a very important ministry of the church. To foster a vision in each person for the proclaimation of the gospel and the extension of God’s kingdom .
