2014 IMPACTX Workshop

Retailers are always looking for ways to sell more and lose less- while being safer. New fixtures,
product packaging, procedures, technologies, layout, guards, and other approaches are often
adopted with limited understanding of their mechanisms or actual effectiveness.
Research provides vital information on loss dynamics, protective outcomes, best practices, and
hidden effects. Research also provides retailers an opportunity to assess the real and financial
impact, if any, there has been on product loss.
The LPRC has developed the 2014 IMPACTxXWorkshop to help retailers and their solutions
partners better employ research tools to assess the real-world impact their LP efforts have on
sales, crime, and loss levels.
Objectives
The workshop is a two plus day program designed to help participants better understand how
they can use research approaches to reduce crime and loss, and increase sales.
Method
The program consists of presentations and panel discussions with retailers, brand owners,
researchers, and solutions providers. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to work
in teams to apply the research approaches to current loss issues with the help of expert
facilitators. Each team will make a short presentation to demonstrate the research designs they
developed.
Fee
The program is free for two executives for all LPRC members, plus $395 for each additional
retailer member participant (BOA and group or team leaders do not count against this limit).
For retailers who are not LPRC members, the fee is $595 per participant (limit two). Nonmember vendors may not attend. Proceeds support LPRC retail asset protection research
projects.
