-AnnouncementsThe Saco River Trip was absolutely fantastic! I want
to thank Lacey, Josh, Don, John, Levi, Brian, Nicole
and Glenn for all going on the trip. We paddled nearly
11 miles down river, camping out along the banks for
the night! Although the temperatures dipped below
freezing at night, we ate hot food, made Cowboy
Coffee, hot chocolate, and enjoyed a camp fire in the
evening and morning. All had positive attitudes and
were part of making it all happen! It was a great
experience for river reading, paddling around
strainers, rocks, and increasing boat maneuvering
skills!

Hampden News…
September saw some exciting times here in the North this year. Biggest ATV ride we
have ever put together up in Abbott. Did some hikes including Barren Mountain along
the Appalachian Trail and into Gulf Hagas to check out the waterfalls. We even went to
the ocean to do some fishing. But I think the award for craziest activity of the month,
heck maybe even the year, has to be Sky Diving! We are always looking for ways to help
people achieve their dreams here and 3 of our folks took to the skies of Millinocket to
jump out of a plane with Mount Katahdin as their back drop. Congrats to David, Benz,
and Jon for crossing a major item off the bucket list and giving us a thrill in the process!
Special Olympics Fundraising!
Casco Block Party Challenge
Our team has been doing many fundraisers to help support our team in the
upcoming events! This month we put on a fancy Bistro Night where we set our
program location up similar to an Italian restaurant. Our athletes and coaches did a
great job in being wait staff, hosting, and preparing meal orders in the kitchen. Thank
you to everyone who helped out! We had positive reviews from our guests and we
plan on doing it again next year! Tune in next month to see what fundraising we do
next!
From Hannah’s Desk
So, is anyone else super excited that fall is here? The leaves falling and changing
colors, the cooler sleeping nights…and not to mention Halloween is coming!!!
The post office is telling me that there is mail being addressed incorrectly. This slows
down the processing of all documents; it would be really helpful if everyone would
double check that the address on file for Momentum- Hampden. The address should
be PO Box 657, Hampden, ME 04444. Please also make sure the address label states
Momentum Inc. and if necessary the person’s name the mail is for.
Also be watching the mail for the annual Shared Living Provider brunch being held at
the Hampden office on October 9th from 10am-1pm. We’d really like to see all of our
Providers make the event! Please give me a call soon and let me know that you’re
coming!
