The thread onto which the head element is screwed is coated with spedcaps micro-encapsulated liquid adhesive. The adhesive cures within a few hours of installation and the design element is secured against unwinding through dynamic loads. It
cannot be removed manually after curing.

myriad of projects, both at home and abroad. The glass
used can be anything from 8 to 18 mm thick, depending on
the application. No glass drilling is required for completely
secure installation. We can even provide complete static

since January 1. 2007. All components also conform
to building regulations through adherence to BS 8118.
Installing the clamps and fitting glass panels on site is
made much easier by the fact that tolerances in the support
structure can be taken up by adjustments in every direction:

potential for double-clamped installations. All the existing

ALW-Light is ideal for installing light-weight glass panels onto aluminium subframes. It is characterised by ease–of-use and easy adaptation to any pane size.
Fixing to the sub-frame is achieved with corrosion-proof power tool fasteners.
Each glass panel is held in place by the positioning of the neighbouring pane,
secured by shims. The glass is secured in place without drilling. Clamps are
available in anodised aluminium EV1 or any RAL colour.
ALW-Light has a full static type approval to DIN 18516.
There is no need for individual building regulations approval.

Fixing positions should be
detailed accurately using suitable
measuring tools.
All masonry anchors i.e. chemical
and expansion anchors should
be installed in accordance with
the manufacturer‘s instructions
dependant upon the substrate.

Glass point fixing: place the male
threaded portion through the bore
hole in the glass and screw on,
from beneath, the female part of
the point fixing. Please note that
the orientation is correct to align
with the coupling on the lower
end of the connecting rod. The
thread pin must be secured with
thread-locking adhesive. Then fit
the glass pane into the lower wall
bracket and secure it with bolts
and retaining rings.
Plates should be attached using
the appropriate fastener.
Insert the connecting rod into the
front point fitting and secure it by
slotting the split pin into the bolt.
The threaded connecting rod
is positioned onto the upper
fastening plate and is secured
with a stainless steel pin. A safety
retaining ring is then fixed in place.
The canopy is then adjusted by
turning the connecting
rod. The nuts must be locked
and secured with thread-locking
adhesive.
Assembly and loadings:
Please note that building regulations may well apply.
The customer is responsible for all building approvals.
A structural engineer should be consulted to agree all
loadings and substructure fixing types.Quoted prices do
not include calculating loadings and fixing types. Fasteners
to the substructure should be fixed in accordance with
the manufacturer‘s recommendations and technical values

between the glass plates and fittings are UV resistant. All parts
should be professionally assembled and adjusted. The canopy
can be adjusted up to +/- 20 mm by way of the connecting
rods. Once adjusted the connected rods should be locked
to avoid misalignment. The canopies are not accessible for
cleaning purposes.
