Supporting speech, language and communication skills in mainstream settings
Early identification of speech, language and communication needs
Delivering effective targeted support in small groups
Practical strategies and ideas
The Speech and Language Therapy Service offers
a range of training opportunities for school staff
throughout the year. All of our training courses
are mapped onto the Speech, Language and
Communication Framework (SLCF), which
identifies levels of competency for the entire
children’s workforce in relation to speech,
language and communication. Our training
courses develop competences at a universal and
enhanced level.
We offer a range of opportunities including half day sessions, full day Language for Learning training, workshops to
support small group targeted interventions and the yearlong Every Child a Talker programme which offers a whole
setting approach and support for early years.
Written and delivered by qualified and experienced speech and language
therapists working in partnership with specialist teachers
