Failure to follow this procedure can cause damage to the knob and the outlet pressure may fluctuate. • Pull the pressure regulator knob to unlock. (You can visually verify this with the “orange mark” that appears in the gap.) • Push the pressure regulator knob to lock. When the knob is not easily locked, turn it left and right a little and then push it (when the knob is locked, the “orange mark”, i.e., the gap will disappear). M5 0.6 Outlet pressure (MPa) Warning 1. Set the regulator while verifying the displayed values of the inlet and outlet pressure gauges. Turning the knob excessively can cause damage to the internal parts. 2. The pressure gauge included with regulators for 0.02 to 0.2 MPa setting is for up to 0.2 MPa use only. Exceeding 0.2 MPa of pressure can damage the gauge. Nevertheless, the gauge for the AR10 regulator with 0.02 to 0.2 MPa setting is for up to 1.0 MPa use. 3. Do not use tools on the pressure regulator knob as this may cause damage. It must be operated manually. Inlet pressure Pressure in (IN) diaphragm chamber VEX AMR ITV IC VBA Figure 3 Orange mark IN Figure 2 VE Back flow VY1 OUT Inlet pressure Pressure in (IN) diaphragm chamber When the inlet pressure (P1) is higher than the regulating pressure, the check valve w closes and operates as a normal regulator (Figure 1). When the inlet pressure (P1) is shut off and released, the check valve w opens and the pressure in the diaphragm chamber q is released into the inlet side (Figure 2). This lowers the pressure in the diaphragm chamber q and the force generated by the pressure regulator spring e lifts the diaphragm. Valve r opens through the stem, and the outlet pressure is released to the inlet side (Figure 3). 2. A knob cover is available to prevent careless operation of the knob. Refer to page 14-2-6 for details. Maintenance Warning 1. When using the regulator between a solenoid valve and an actuator, check the pressure gauge periodically. Sudden pressure fluctuations may shorten the durability of the pressure gauge. A digital pressure gauge is recommended for such situation or as deemed necessary. 14-2-55 G PPA AL Series AR20K to 60K Flow Characteristics (Representative values) Rc 1/4 AR40K-06 0.6 0.6 0.5 0.5 Outlet pressure (MPa) Outlet pressure (MPa) AR20K 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.4 0.3 0.2 200 400 600 0 0 800 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) Rc 3/8 0.6 0.5 0.5 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 500 1000 Rc 1 0.2 5000 10000 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) Rc 3/8 AR60K 0.6 0.6 0.5 0.5 Outlet pressure (MPa) Outlet pressure (MPa) 5000 0.3 0 0 1500 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 Rc 1 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 500 1000 1500 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) AR40K Rc 1/2 0.5 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 1000 2000 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) 0 0 5000 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) 0.6 Outlet pressure (MPa) 4000 0.1 AR30K 14-2-56 3000 0.4 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) 00 2000 AR50K 0.6 0 0 1000 Flow rate (l/min (ANR)) Outlet pressure (MPa) Outlet pressure (MPa) AR25K 0 0 Rc 3/8 0.1 0.1 0 0 Condition: Inlet pressure 0.7 MPa 3000 10000 Regulator with Back Flow Mechanism Pressure Characteristics (Representative values) AR20K Set point 0.2 Outlet pressure (MPa) Outlet pressure (MPa) Conditions: Inlet pressure 0.7 MPa Outlet pressure 0.2 MPa Flow rate 20 l/min (ANR) 0.25 0.15 Set point 0.2 F.R.L.
