The Neighborhood Recreation Center offers a variety of state of the art free
weights, strength and cardiovascular machines to help improve and maintain your
overall fitness level. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and show a
valid Picture I.D. at time of registration. Lockers are provided on site for bags and
personal items.

The Neighborhood Recreation Center offers free body fat testing once a month to

The Neighborhood Recreation Center offers a variety of programs such as special
events, on the spot games, tournaments, arts & crafts and physical activities. The
program goal is to provide a safe, fun and supervised alternative for youth after
school. IMPORTANT! This is a drop-in program. Children come and go as they
please.
FUN ZONE MEMBERSHIP - $3 monthly
All youth must be registered by a parent or guardian. Children must have their
membership cards in their possession to participate. If a participant’s card is lost or
stolen, a new card must be purchased. A $3 replacement card fee applies.

Fill out a class household information card and pay the required fees at the center.
You are not enrolled into the class until you have: 1) signed the waiver on the back
of the household information card, 2) your fees have been paid, and 3) you have

Silver Mesa offers two fitness rooms. One with a variety of strength and resistance
equipment and a second room with the latest cardiovascular machines to help
improve and maintain your overall fitness level. The cardio room is equipped with a
state of the art cardio theater as well as a sound system to get you moving during
your workout. So bring your headphones from home for use on the cardio machines
and tune into our TV’s! Users must be members.
To qualify for a membership, the user must be 18 years of age or older and show a

VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED
Volunteer coaches are the backbone of youth sports. Seasonally, children are not able to play
because there are not enough coaches for the number of teams needed. Volunteer coaches
are people who can work with children and teach them the basic skills of team sports. If you
would like to be a role model and demonstrate leadership for children in our community a
volunteer coach could be just the position for you. Most of the seasons run 9–10 weeks with
a commitment for 8 games and a single practice per week. Background checks are done on

MAYOR’S SOCCER CHALLENGE – November 22 and 23
The City of North Las Vegas Sports Division will host
the inaugural Mayor’s Soccer Challenge,
November 22 – November 23, 2014 at
Tropical Breeze Park. The tournament is open
to any youth recreation soccer teams in the
U9-U13 age divisions. The format will be co-ed
team, 7V7 however all girl recreation teams are
invited to participate. This is a blind draw
tournament - no seedings. Teams are guaranteed
a minimum of three scheduled games. The entry
fee is $150 per team and the deadline to register is
November 1, 2014. This is considered a division 4 level tournament and competitive players are not allowed to participate. More information will be posted on
the City of North Las Vegas website.

SAFEKEY PROGRAM
Safekey is a structured before and after school recreation program for K-5th grade
children. Safekey is offered at school sites and provides a variety of activities and
social events such as arts and crafts, fitness activities and physical games that are
facilitated by trained staff.
Children may work on homework during the hours of Safekey but we cannot enforce
the completion of homework or ensure that it is done correctly. Safekey is a recreation based program, we do not offer tutoring or homework help. This is to ensure
that children are not misadvised on homework.
You must sign your child in and out daily. The person who is scheduled to pick
up your child must be listed on the participation form and they must show proper
identification.
Every child must have a new Safekey participation form on file for the 2014-2015
school year.
Children are encouraged to wear closed toed athletic shoes daily. Flip flops and
sandals are not advised for indoor or outdoor active play.
Payment is required before or on the day that services are rendered.
A $10 late pick-up fee is assessed for every 10-minute increment the child stays
past the scheduled program time, beginning at 6:01 p.m. The late fee is due at the
time of pick up or before the participant returns to the program.

The Par 3 golf course hosts multiple tournaments throughout the year. Tournaments are held

The City of North Las Vegas operates a 9-hole, par 3 golf course 7 days a week that offers
the best golf value in the Las Vegas area. Open year round, the course can be enjoyed by golfers of all ages and abilities. It is especially user friendly for seniors and beginners. The length is
not intimidating, there are no artificial hazards and the small greens present a challenge to the
more accomplished players.
LESSONS
The City of North Las Vegas is proud to offer golf lessons for beginner to intermediate golfers.
Classes are held once a week, for 6 weeks. Beginner classes are $50.00 and meet for 60
minutes and intermediate classes are $60.00 and meet for 90 minutes. Clubs are available
at no additional charge for participant use during lesson time. Lessons are offered during Fall,
Winter and Spring months.
LEAGUES
The Par 3 golf course is looking forward to introducing formalized leagues for men, women
and youth ages 6-17 in support of the Sticks for Kids program. These leagues will meet once
a week. Golfers of all ages and abilities will be welcomed to join. As additional information
becomes available; dates, fees and promotional information will be posted in the Pro Shop.

The course is well maintained and offers gently rolling terrain with many mature trees and
a great view of the Las Vegas Valley. The course was the first lighted course in Nevada and
golfers can tee off as late as 4:30pm during the Fall Season. There is a small coffee shop and
the pro shop located in the clubhouse features top of the line products.
Course overseed is scheduled Sep 27-Oct 12. The course will be closed during these dates.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We understand unplanned events come up and you
may need to cancel your reservation. If this is the case, cancellation must be made at least
14 days prior to your reservation. All cancellation requests must be made in writing with the
name of reservation holder, reservation date and contract number. Cancellations made prior
to the 14 days are subject to a fee of 50% of reservation costs. For cancellations made less
than 14 days of reservation, NO REFUNDS will be issued. No refunds will be approved due to
inclement weather.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds are subject to approval. All approved refunds will be applied
to the original payee and credit card number unless paid with cash or check. If paid by cash or check
you will be sent a check in the mail. Refund process may take up to three (3) weeks.
JUMPER POLICY: Jumpers and bounce-houses are welcome in certain areas/shelters of the Craig Ranch Regional Park as long as the reserving group obtains a park reservation
contract through the reservation desk or kiosk. Jumpers must be provided by a company who
holds general liability insurance naming the City of North Las Vegas as an additional insured
up to $1 million per occurrence. Companies may not utilize stakes to secure the jumper, no
exceptions.
PERSONAL BAR-B-QUE GRILLS: For the safety of our patrons, personal
bar-b-que grills are not permitted within Craig Ranch Regional Park.

COMMUNITY GARDEN: The community garden offers sixty-two, 5 ft. x
13 ft. personal garden plots that are available for reservations annually. Applications for the
Community Garden are available online at www.cityofnorthlasvegas.com or stop by the
Information Kiosk. (#17) The annual fee is $150.00 per plot and includes water usage. A meet
and greet will be held in Sep, 2014.

Red Dragon Events, in partnership with the City of North Las Vegas, present the first
annual Dash N’ Splash 5K Family Fun Run and Epic Water Fight. This is a festive 5K
run where runners must try to “water tag” each other while being armed with super
soakers filled with colored water! The object of the run will be to avoid spectators
who will be attempting to bombard you and your friends with water balloons and
water guns as you race to the finish line. Once you cross the finish line, runners are

opportunity to participate in the Home Town Heroes competition on Fremont Street on

PICNIC-GAZEBO: The gazebos are ideal for family birthday parties, baby or bridal
showers and other small events involving less than 100 people. These reservations must be
made at least 30 days in advance. Fees are $75 per hour with a 2-hour minimum.
