Dear Superintendents, Principals, and Music Teachers,
The Jr. High/High School Division of the Mississippi Music Educators Association will sponsor
workshops throughout the 2014-2015 school year. These workshops are designed to foster
continuing teacher education and professional growth by providing new ideas, materials and
teaching strategies that may be implemented in the classroom. The workshop location and dates are
listed below.

School administrators; please consider the fall workshop as an opportunity for professional
development for your music teacher(s). If it is possible for the school district to provide membership
fees, registration fees, and /or a professional day for your teachers, this workshop will be a
worthwhile use of time and money.

Registration for workshop is $25 for MMEA members, $65 for non-members, and $10 for college
students with checks made payable to MMEA. Purchase orders or cash WILL NOT be accepted.
Checks cannot be held for late deposit. All payments are due at the time of the workshop. Add $15
for late or on-site registration. Lunch will be provided and is included in the workshop fee. Please
pre-register so that we can adequately plan for lunch. Complete the pre-registration form and return
it with your payment to the chairperson of the workshop you are planning to attend. The postmark
deadline for pre-registration is Monday, October 13, 2014. If you are waiting on a school check,
please check the box on the registration form and you may bring it with you to the workshop, but
please go ahead and send in your registration form. Additional forms ar available at
www.msmea.org.
CEU Credit
CEUs will be available for $10.00 through Mississippi College. You must sign up, register, and pay
on-site for CEUs. (Please note: CEU payment should not be sent with pre-registration.)
A SEPARATE check made payable to Mississippi College will be necessary for CEUs.
Persons requesting CEUs must attend the ENTIRE workshop to receive credit.
NAfME Membership
The Mississippi Music Educators Association is affiliated with The National Association for Music
Education, formerly MENC, and all music teachers are encouraged to support their professional
organization. Applications for NAfME membership will be available on-site at the workshop.
Please make membership checks payable to NAfME. Members must present their membership
card at all MMEA events.
