way: Go out. Go out and
share your testimony, go out
and interact with your brothers, go out and share, go out
and ask. Become the Word
in body as well as spirit.

PARKING NOTICE
By city ordinance, cars are not
allowed to park in the driveway over the sidewalk and in
the main entrance. The Newman Center can be fined by
police if your car blocks the
sidewalk. When the driveway
is coned off it means that all
available spots are full. Please
park on campus. We know
parking is a challenge here,
and encourage everyone to
park at the UW N5 lot if ours is
full. The walk is very convenient (see map). Thank you for
your understanding.
ANY CAR PARKED ILLEGALLY
WILL BE TOWED IMMEDIATELY.

The Dominican Friars Need Your Help
In the coming weeks you’ll be hearing
more about the Western Dominican Province’s Rosary Sunday Appeal and Mission
West Campaign. As many of you know,
these efforts support the critical short and
long term needs of our Dominican friars.
As the Dominicans are mendicants, they
rely on the support of generous people like you in order to
devote their lives to service and preaching the Gospel.
Please prayerfully consider how God might be calling you
to help us reach our goal of $50,000 and support the friars. Gifts can be made online at www.opwest.org/
donate.
Come and join us for the launch of the Newman
Center chapter of the Vocare Movement!
October 13th - 7pm
Noted author and blogger Mark Shea will
give a talk on “The Biblical Roots of Catholic
Social Teaching”.
Refreshments will be provided. We hope to
see you there!
What is Vocare?
We’re a group of Catholics dedicated to calling and educating the laity on the Catholic social teaching, uniting
together to engage society and transform our culture by
living this teaching in authentic Catholic lives through
works of charity. We are now launching chapters across
Washington State.

What are chapters?
Chapters are community social “events” with teaching,
discussion and action. Chapter events will rotate between
local parishes, schools, etc. so we may reach out and
spread our "new evangelization" efforts throughout our entire community. Come and see for yourself!

World Mission Sunday
October 18-19
Next weekend, October 18 and 19,the Church will celebrate World Mission Sunday. This year we are invited to reach out and help build up the
Church in Mongolia, the world‟s youngest Catholic Church! Collection
envelopes will be in the pews, and there will be only one passing of the
basket, as is our custom. We ask that you please give generously for the
Society for the Propagation of the Faith, and keep the missions in your
daily prayers. Thank you! For more information, visit
www.IAmAMissionary.org.
Morning Prayer on Campus
Join us on Thursday mornings at the benches in Red
Square for morning prayer before heading to class. We
will begin at 8am and be finished before classes start!
Volunteer Opportunity
Would you like to be a part of encouraging greater profamily voter turnout this election? The Family Policy Institute
of Washington is looking for volunteers to call voters who
may not participate in this election without encouragement
and to reach out to them and provide such encouragement. If you are at all interested in assisting with this effort
please contact Conrad Reynoldson at [email protected] or
call (425) 312-1755.
