About our expert speakers
Seminar chairs:
Dr John Ballard is the editor of The At Work Partnership publication,
Occupational Health [at Work] and is an honorary fellow of the Faculty of
Occupational Medicine.
Dr Steve Boorman CBE joined Capita in March 2013 as chief medical
adviser to the team providing PIP benefits assessments for the DWP.
Previously, he worked for Abermed and Royal Mail.
Dr Nerys Williams is the former principal occupational physician and deputy
director (wellbeing) for the Department for Work and Pensions. She is now an
independent occupational physician.
Speakers:
Prof Diana Kloss MBE is a barrister, former employment judge, honorary
senior lecturer at the University of Manchester, and a visiting professor at
London South Bank University.
Nick Hanning is a partner and personal injury and employment lawyer
with RWPS LLP and is a past president of the Chartered Institute of Legal
Executives.
Dr Nadia Sheikh is a consultant in occupational medicine at Health
Management Ltd.
Dr Phil Wynn is an occupational physician working in local government and
the NHS. He has been involved with a Department of Health initiative to help
get survivors of the common cancers back to work.
Fiona Walsh is the deputy director, health and wellbeing, at the Department
for Work and Pensions.
Karen Coomer is an occupational health nurse, the director of KC Business
Health Ltd and is currently undertaking a part-time PhD in Applied Psychology
at the University of Nottingham.
Prof Stephen Bevan is director of the Centre for Workforce Effectiveness at
The Work Foundation and an honorary professor at Lancaster University.
Dr Simon Sheard is a consultant occupational physician and member of the
senior medical management team at Health Management Ltd.
Dr John English has been a consultant dermatologist for 25 years, initially in
Staffordshire, and since 1996 at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Frank O’Reilly is chief medical officer of An Post, Ireland’s national
postal service. Previously he was head of occupational health at RollsRoyce Aerospace.
Prof Richard Heron is vice-president health and chief medical officer at BP,
and president of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (from May 2014).

This is a newly refurbished 4* hotel, easily accessible from the M40 and M69 and
13 miles from Birmingham Airport. The venue is only one hour and 10 minutes from
London by train. Peak-time fares are estimated to start from £29 return!

Cancellation policy
For cancellations received in writing 14 days before the seminar, we will provide a
refund, less a 25% administration fee to cover administration costs. If the cancellation
is received within 14 days of the seminar, no refund will be made, but we will accept
an alternative delegate from your organisation at the event. Refunds are not available
to delegates who fail to attend after confirming a booking.
