Risk Analysis & Mitigation Strategies – Unique Approach as Developer As Developer/EPC player and by virtue of our experience, we have coined a new approach to inherit the safety factors in Plant from conceptualization, designing and implementation stage itself. We have worked very hard to mitigate various risks and threats present in development and sustainability of the project. Power Off-taker Risk: The power off-taker risk is most crucial from prospective of long term payment security. A payment delay or default can make the project unviable. Most of the off taker and payment risks are associated with the government policy, Tariff Structure and Poor financial health of Power Purchaser. Further, risk is also associated with the payment default and consumption pattern i.e. assessment of the power off taker. Having technical expertise in the field of power sector we have taken various measures to mitigate the risk. Important risk mitigation measures taken by us are Market Driven Opportunities: The project implementation under Direct 3rd Party Power sale . For maximum off take from generator and to avoid issues of Energy Banking arising due to mismatch in consumption & generation patterns, PPA will be signed with professional Category-II power trader @ min of Rs 6.75/- per unit at constant rate for 20 Years .Further, power purchaser is also an obligated entity and major trader in Indian Market. Also, project is grid connected and with open access permission, this measure also mitigates the dependability of power sell on single procurer in case of default conditions. Meitnerium Technologies || www.meitnerium.in || Kukatpally Hyderabad-500072 PPA Bankability: PPA signed by 3rd Party has following features for bankability. a) PPA term (Min 10 Years) is longer than Debt Repayment term (9-10 Years). b) Take or Pay Clause incorporated in PPA, it is govern by CUF & PR. c) Payment security ensured through revolving LC (3 months). d) A course of action for a default by either the power producer or the off-taker is clearly outlined. e) No held up condition in case of default from any of the party. f) As the project is grid connected, alternative is easily available for sale of power. Resource Data and Generation Risk: Accurate Irradiation Data Estimation is acquired by comparison of radiation data from different sources like Meteonorm, SolarGIS, Nasa. Better radiation estimate produces accurate generation estimate. P90 assessment report is considered for generation estimate. Based on the estimation, measures are taken at design stage to ensure annual generation of 1.6 MU. Various steps like seasonal tilt, DC capacity enhancement are adopted to achieve 1.6 MU generation. Generation guarantee shall be bankable. Technology Risk: Technology Risk with respect to quality and performance is mitigated by following measures a) Use of proven technology like Polycrystalline. b) Technology assessment at design stage. c) Warranties support for major components e.g. Panel 25 Years (Performance Guaranty), 10 Years (Manufacturer Defect), Inverter 5 Years (Covered by comprehensive AMC). d) Generation supported by PBG. e) Use of Modules, Inverters, BOS Components & Practises that meets internationally prevalent quality standard such as IEC 60364, IEC 61557, and IEC 61730 etc. This step mitigate the technical risk to large scale and give project a bankability. f) Following table shows the international standards used at various stages of plant EPC and components selection.
