APPLICATION FOR POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER INSTRUCTIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The police officer shall be responsible for the enforcement of the applicable laws of the State of New Hampshire and applicable ordinances of the Town of Londonderry. He/She shall patrol the Town of Londonderry by foot or cruiser, regulate traffic, investigate and report criminal acts when discovered, investigate accidents, and file appropriate reports as prescribed by Departmental Rules, Regulations, Procedures, and/or superior officers. He/She shall also be responsible for other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Every applicant must be a citizen of the United States. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent meeting New Hampshire Standards. The applicant must be of proportionate height and weight, and shall not have any physical, mental, and/or medical impairments which would interfere with the ability to perform the essential functions of a police officer. Persons applying shall be of good moral character, shall not have a criminal record or serious motor vehicle record, and shall meet all qualifying standards as set forth by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council. Applicants shall be at least 21 years of age by the date of appointment. All applicants shall pass a written examination, a physical agility test, an oral interview, extensive background investigation, psychological examination process, physical examination, a departmental interview, and any other tests deemed necessary to determine his/her fitness as a police officer. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. Successful applicants must graduate from the New Hampshire Police Training Academy, and serve a probationary period of one year. I further certify that a copy of the Londonderry Police Department’s Physical Agility Test, Entry Level Requirements has been provided to me in advance, that I have reviewed the Entry Level Requirements (copy attached) and there are no medical reasons that I am aware of or have made the Londonderry Police Department aware of, that would prohibit me from participating. I further understand that by participating in the Londonderry Police Department’s Physical Agility Test, and by signing this “Waiver of Liability,” I hold the Londonderry Police Department, it’s employees administering the test, and the New Hampshire Police Training Academy, “Harmless from All Civil Actions, and/or Medical Costs,” arising from injuries that might occur, during my participation in the Physical Agility Test.
