All County Audition Requirements 2014-2015

7th and 8th Minimum Audition Requirements
Play concert G, C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, and Db major scales with arpeggios, all state style (tongue up,
slur down) as many octaves as possible. You have two minutes to play your scales by memory.
Please note that extra scales will not be judged.
Play your chromatic scale as many octaves as possible starting on any note in one minute or less
by memory.
Wind instruments play the prepared exercise(s) from Rubank Advanced Method Volume I;
percussion play from the books as listed; Bass Clarinet and Baritone TC please use Rubank
Advanced Method Vol. I books listed below.

Major Scales - 12 major scales (in 2 minutes or less) from memory complete with arpeggios.
Scales should be performed 2 octaves where possible using the All-State pattern. Scales will be
performed chromatically, starting with the Concert key of G. Concert G, Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db,
D, Eb, E, F, Gb. Students will be judged on technical ability as well as note accuracy.
