About ISTE
Objective of the Program
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a
national, professional, non-profit making Society registered
under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in
1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions
(APTI), it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical
Education" in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance
the cause of technological education. The major objective of
the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production
and development of top quality professional engineers and
technicians needed by the industries and other organizations.
Being the only national organization of educators in the field
of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in
various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of
Human Resource Development, CTE/DST/MIT/State Govts.
are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to
technical education.
The Department of CSE and IT, SVMIT is organizing ISTE
approved one week short Term Training Program (STTP) on
“Recent Trends in Data Mining” during 24th-28th Nov 2014.
This training programme is aimed to discuss the opportunities
and challenges of Data Mining including various techniques
and algorithms. The programme is aimed to assist faculty
members, professionals, and researchers to understand
about emerging data mining techniques and hands on
sessions on Data Mining Tools (WEKA, Rapid Miner, XL
Miner, DM Miner and Clementine).
A General Overview of the Institution
SVM Institute of Technology (SVMIT), located in Bharuch, is
a leading institute offering multidisciplinary undergraduate and
postgraduate courses in engineering. Institute is located in
peaceful and pleasant surroundings. It is in the center of wellknown industry areas like Dahej, Ankleshwar and Jhagadia,

PG Students
• Rs. 1700/- for faculty members (Non ISTE Members)
• Rs. 2000/- for delegates from Industry
• Limited Entries (40 participants)
This course fees includes STTP kit, working day lunch, tea
and snacks. No accommodation is provided. STTP
Registration charges are to be paid by Demand Draft in favour
of ‘S.V.M. Institute of Technology’ payable at Bharuch.
