INTRODUCTION
• The introduction of General Studies Modules (GSMs) is one of
NYP’s strategic initiatives to strengthen the curriculum so as to
“develop the ALL rounder graduate”.
• The key objective of GSMs is to prepare our graduates for the
industry, and for further education and lifelong learning.
• This is achieved by developing in our students the desired
characteristics including a creative and inquiring mindset, good
communication skills, an awareness of global issues, flexibility and
adaptability to work environment and living a healthy lifestyle.
• GSMs seek to offer students with better appreciation and broader
interest in areas beyond their course of study.
2
INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
• Year 1, 2 and 3 students will be offered GSMs in 2014S2.
• Students are required to do GSMs from different clusters of
modules.
• Students are required to complete the required number of
GSM credits before graduation.
• Students have to register their preferred GSMs online via
myNYP portal on designated dates.
• Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis as long as the
vacancy is available.
