City Council Meeting for October 14, 2014
October 15 – The Cajon Classic Cruise Car Show theme is “Wagons Gone Wild.” This weekly event
continues every Wednesday night through October 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on East Main Street,
between Magnolia and Claydelle Avenues. On October 22, the Car Show theme is “The Best of the Best.” The

October 16 - The El Cajon Farmers’ Market continues every Thursday. Hours are from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00

October 24 and November 7 - Alternate Friday closures for El Cajon City offices. Please go to

October 24 - HauntFest on Main is from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Downtown El Cajon! This family
friendly Halloween themed event features live bands on two downtown stages, a haunted car show, a variety
of local vendors, and excellent dining experiences at local restaurants. Visit the haunted Terror Truck, the Kidz
Zone, and enjoy carnival rides. Dress in your favorite costume and enter the costume contests! This event is
presented by St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center, the City of El Cajon, and the Downtown El Cajon Business

October 26 - El Cajon Lions Annual Pancake Breakfast and Bluegrass Music from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. at the Ronald Regan Community Center, 195 E. Douglas Avenue in El Cajon. While dining, enjoy
Bluegrass Music from the Ridge Runner Band! Tickets will be available at the door. The pancake breakfast is
$8.00 with proceeds going toward free eye testing and free glasses for the needy children of East County. For

October 28 and November 18 – The El Cajon City Council Meetings are at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
(as needed). The meetings are held in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center Way. For more information

October 29 – The Cajon Classic Cruise Car Show theme is “Trunk or Treat.” This is the last car show
of the 2014 season, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cars will be decorated in a Halloween theme and candy will
be given to children. This will be a full street closure of East Main Street, between Magnolia and Claydelle
Avenues.
November 11 – City offices closed in observance of the Veterans Day Holiday.
November 23 - The 68th Mother Goose Parade – New Time & Direction! The parade begins at 12:00
p.m. “noon” on Ballantyne Street at Park Avenue, continues south to East Main Street, then goes west on East
Main Street to Johnson Avenue, and concludes going north on Johnson Avenue to the Parkway Plaza mall.
Enjoy marching bands, equestrians and parade floats! Don’t miss the Mother Goose Carnival which will be at
the end of the parade! This will be located in the northwest corner of the Parkway Plaza mall parking lot. Visit
