RENOVATION BLESSINGS AT THANKSGIVING: In September, donations to the Church Renovation Project totalled $7,605,
bringing us almost 4% closer to our financial goal--only 57% ($114, 395) still to go! As you think about your blessings over this

DONATIONS NEEDED: You are invited to share in blessing our soup kitchen clients. We are preparing a gift bag for each client and
need travel size personal care items such as lotion, bath gel, shampoo/conditioner (readily available at Dollarama and Dollar Tree), as
well as women’s winter sport-style socks. Donations may be left in a box which will be located in the church foyer.
ALBERTA ADVENTIST NEWS: The September 2014 edition of the Alberta Adventist News (AAN) is now available online at
http://albertaadventist.ca/aan. Also, printed copies are available to be picked up today from the hostess desk or magazine rack in the
foyer.
CHURCH NEWSLETTER: Summer is over and school is in. It has been a few months since the newsletter was published so there
should be lots of news to share with our church family. Please take the time to submit an article and/or pictures (with captions) to put
into the next issue of Glimpses. Send your submissions to Marcia Hill via e-mail at [email protected] by NO LATER than October
14; the newsletter will be ready for distribution on November 1. Thank you in advance for your contributions!

LADIES HEALTH RETREAT: “Created in His Image” will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Red Deer November 7 to 9, 2014,
organized by the Alberta Conference Health Department. Various workshops and lectures will be presented including special guest
speaker Danièle Starenkyj, well known author of 17 books and presenter/lecturer specializing in the area of women’s natural health.

MEN’S MINISTRIES: Alberta Conference Men’s Ministries will host a Northern Regional Convention, “The Sanctified Man; God’s
Finished Work” in Edmonton, December 5 - 6, 2014. Guest speaker will be Dr. John Trusty from the Allegheny East Conference,
Pennsylvania, USA. We’re asking all males to make note of the dates and plan to attend. Details will follow in the coming weeks.
BACKYARD FRIENDS SUPPER: The next supper will be on Wednesday, October 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.
A freewill donation is requested. Vegetarian friendly. Bring along a family member or friend and enjoy the fellowship and meal.
GOLDEN HERITAGE CLUB invites all seniors to our first gathering of the year, to be held in the Earliteen Room downstairs on
October 19 at 1:00 p.m. Ron Bissell will be presenting a fascinating travelog, “ThaiClips, Photographic Adventures in Thailand.”

PAA MUSIC FESTIVAL: Parkview Adventist Academy is excited to invite all Junior and Senior High musicians to participate in an
Adventist Music Festival this fall! The program will run from October 30 to November 1, 2014 on the PAA/CUC campus. To train

SISTERS OF SOUL BENEFIT CONCERT: Please join the women of CUC on Saturday, October 18, at 8:00 p.m. at the CHCS gym for
the annual Sisters of Soul concert with all proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Admission is free. Donations
will be collected. Be sure to bring cash for merchandise and refreshments. Attendees will be entered to win a great Pampered Chef
door prize. Help us conquer cancer in our lifetime!
CHURCH SOCIAL EVENT: The Social Committee invites you to enjoy some fresh air, exercise, food and fellowship on Sabbath
afternoon, October 18. There will be a hike/walk at J.J. Collett Nature Preserve from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Then we’ll
meet over at the Zazulak home (#8 Wolf Ridge Estates, 1 ½ km N. of Wolf Creek Golf Course on Dodds Dr.) for hot dogs and
refreshments. If the weather is decent, we’ll be outside by a fire, so please bring lawn chairs. Please join us for one or both activities!
