Swimming and Queensland Swimming Rules.
All participating clubs must be affiliated, and all swimmers must be registered with Swimming Queensland

Timed finals will be swum for all events.
Swimmers must compete only in their age group as specified in the program, or Open events where

Swimmers must be ready to take their position on the starting blocks when signalled to do so by the
Referee.
The “One Start Rule” will apply throughout.
“Over the Top” starting will apply at the discretion of the Referee.
Feet first entry for all Backstroke events will apply on the day.
Junior Rule Tolerances will apply to all 7yrs & Under events
No individual medals will be awarded on the day. All points won will be awarded to the club aggregate for
the day. Cash prizes of $400.00 (1st) $250.00 (2nd) $150.00 (3rd) will be awarded to the clubs based on
aggregate points and the handicap system applied.
Handicap procedures will be in place to assist smaller clubs attending in competing equally with larger
clubs. Points will be allocated per heat in each event for first three place getters.
Points allocated will be 10 points (1st), 5 points (2nd), and 3 points (3rd). All other swimmers in each heat will
earn 1 point for their respective club.
Handicap points will be determined by the simple method of dividing the number of nominated swimmers
from a club into the number of points earned for that particular club. ie. If a club has earned 50 points and
has 10 swimmers, then that club’s overall points for the day will be 5.
Cash prizes of 3 x $50 will also be awarded for team spirit awards on the day.
A Team Representative must submit protests to the Referee in writing, together with a deposit of $50 and
within 30 minutes of the posting of result.
