The Tennessee Central Railway Museum began in early 1989 as an effort to operate excursion trains in
Middle Tennessee. The Museum’s mission is to preserve, restore, interpret and operate historic railroad
equipment for the education of the general public about America’s railroads. The Museum actively supports
Tennessee Operation Lifesaver, a cooperative program between Tennessee railroads and Tennessee state
government promoting safety around railroads and rail-highway grade crossings. An all-volunteer staff does
the work of the Museum. Interested in joining the Museum or learning more about us? If so, please call
