On event day your chili team will need to set up between 9 and 11 am. When you arrive on site please enter at the intersection of Troy and Broadway. Check In at the table on the corner and you will receive your event packet and be directed to your spot. Your event packet will include: 4 team wristbands, 4 meal tickets, and 4 tasting tickets. You may use your meal ticket for lunch or dinner. During set up no vehicles will be allowed on site. If you have heavy items we suggest you bring a wagon or dolly to bring them to your space. When you are setting up please do not put your items in another team’s booth space. They will be setting up too. You must be setup by 11 am. You are not required to man your booth during lunch but are welcome to attend. After lunch the Chili Fest Staff will deliver your tasting cups, tasting spoons, blind judging turn in cup, and garbage bag. During the day if you need to leave and come back please make sure you are wearing the wristband provided to you at check in. This will make it easier for the volunteers working the gates. Bring the unmarked container filled with a hot serving of your chili to the DTMSA office at 108 South Broadway Street no later than 4:00 PM on the afternoon of Friday, October 10, 2014. Do not put your name on the cup. You are allowed to hand out information about your business or organization from your booth only. Walking around the event site with fliers is not allowed. The gates open for the evening at 5 pm. Please be in your booth setup and ready to go at 4:30 pm for team photos. Booth judging will start promptly at 5 pm. Start handing out samplings of your chili to attendees in the cups provided at check in. If you need additional tasting cups and spoons please go to the DTMSA Office and request more. During the tasting you will be encouraging people to give you their voting ticket. The team that collects the most votes will win this year’s “Crowd Favorite”. If you or one of your team members is caught cheating you will be disqualified from all awards. This includes handing out beverages during the event. Crowd Favorite tickets will be collected and counted at 8:45 pm. Once they are taken up no more will be accepted. Once the votes are in the winners will be announced from the stage. Tear down may start at 9 pm. You must remove everything from the site that you brought with you. Make sure your area is clean before you leave. Trash cans will be located throughout the site.
