For Release: October 8, 2014 County Welcomes Local Radio Station 99.3 COUNTY FM Picton, ON - Mayor Peter Mertens and members of Council welcome The County’s own local radio station, to be known as “99.3 COUNTY FM”. The official launch of 99.3 COUNTY FM will be at the Regent Theatre on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 starting at 8pm with a free concert. All are welcome! 99.3 COUNTY FM will be on the air 24/7 and will not compete with Belleville radio stations, rather focusing solely on the County population, capturing and discussing its unique issues, interests and activities. The station aims to be a go-to source for County-specific news and information, and offer a resource to both local residents and businesses. Content will include both music and talk radio, with discussion about wine, sports, agriculture, arts, business, fishing, etc. “Officially launching 99.3 COUNTY FM marks an exciting day for The County and represents the hard work and tireless efforts of many community members”, says Mayor Peter Mertens. “99.3 COUNTY-FM will help meet the needs of local residents and businesses to both share and learn about County-specific issues.” As a non-profit organization, 99.3 COUNTY FM continues to seek both financial support and volunteers to help plan, administer and deliver local radio programming.
